To answer someone's question up there - nope, my Uncle wasn't too upset...I'm sure he wasn't thrilled, and he was worried about us being able to match paint 'til he found out the panels come all ready and will match his bike. He was more worried about Mike and actually insisted that I push to get him to the ER. Mike was downplaying the pain he was in, but he's paying dearly for it all right now. Good thing percocet is his friend

Much appreciated...I have an '03, so I can do a side by side if necessary...I was at my Dad's taking shots and going through the list of what's broken and will need to be replaced, and I was noting the parts that looked just like mine...
I wasn't in any mood to actually pull my Busa out for comparisons...sort of stuck at the ER Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

Sorry to hear about the misfortune. My side panel was scratched when I picked my bike up new. They are getting a new one at no charge of coarse. But it has been on order for almost 4 weeks. I hope yours gets here faster. Tell your hubby I hope he gets well fast.

Wow! sorry to hear this Michelle-glad to know Mike is okay tho...bikes can always be repaired cheaper than peopleHe came back and said it felt like something under the bike "dragged" and caused him to highside; after inspection (the bike's been lowered A LOT) nothing's damaged, belly pan is fine...later he described it as feeling like the front brake was on and the rear tire was sliding in oil...I think it was a combo of NEW tires and perhaps too much twist of the throttle. Mike later conceded that it may have been the tires and the slick treatment on 'em before they're worn in. He honestly doesn't know, only recalls that he landed on his left side, saw the bike sliding away...
It shook him up a lot...never seen him like this, but he's going to be OK

Virtually everyone eats pavement at some point in their riding lifetime - it's fortunate that he wasn't badly hurt. He'll be lumpy for a while, then come all the nifty colors!! And it's only a machine - it can be fixed.

Seriously though, I'm 90% sure the bar end is different between the first gen model and the '08.

Same here. Mechanic aside i don't let NOBODY ride my bike and I don't ride any of my freinds bike's either. Doesn't matter how close a freind or blood relative they may be because a crashed vehicle is a quick way to end all that.That's why I don't ride other peoples bikes. I'm sorry this happened to you guys. I hope you can get it all fixed up.
Wish i could help you out , looking to get the brocks set up for my 08 , but cant seem to dig up the cash , christmas is around the corner , if i figure somthin out and end up getting it sooner than later the can is yours . bar ends if they are different get a set and switch them both , sombody has a stock set lying around , same with the rearsets roaring toyz had a gen 1 rear set on the gen2 saw a pic somewhere on here . imo the gen 2 rearsets are a bit chunky !
