SoCal Riders Lets Ride 12/13-12/14

10-4, me too...

Well, as it turns out, I've taken Friday, 12/12/08, off from work so I can leave whenever necessary to meet you, Dan.

I'll plan to meet you, however, after you cross into California... Now, we just need to find a place to hook up...

:beerchug:

Probably between 11:00 and 12:00. I plan on leaving here between 7:00 and 8:00. I'll probably stop for gas somewhere...

K. I'll look for a good jump-off point today, one with food and fuel; we'll probably be hungry by lunch-ish time.

Dan: I figured out, with Lamb's assist, that 4th Street in El Centro will be a good meet-up place. He's headed West on the 8 right now, and will check out which place at 4th would be a good place for us to hit.

All that, and a shameless B - U - M - P!!!

Gettin' ready to roll, ya'llz!!!

OK. There's a Carl's Junior and a Chevron at the North side of the 8 at 4th Street (also known as CA-86). Now, if you'll mapquest how long it takes you to get to that intersection, I can figure out what time to leave SD so we can meet-up there!!!

Let me know, Danno!

Looks like its 273 miles to that intersection. Map Quest estimates drive time at 4 hours and 9 minutes. I can probably do a little better than than. I'll have to make one gas stop. So... why don't we plan on meeting at the Carls Jr at between 11:00 and 12:00. If that works for you...

Works perfectly.

It's like two hours for me, so I'll plan to leave my house around 9-9:15 Friday morning.

Let's plan on going to Carl's. That way, one of us isn't standing around the Chevron looking all lonely and socially dejected. At least we can stretch out and get some food (if necessary) while the other of us is still en route.

mmmkay?

Carl's is good for me... Its a pretty nice run for me out of Mesa. Mostly flat and I should be able to run around 80 to 85 until I hit California... Anyhow, sounds like we've got a plan. And... thanks again for your very generous hospitality.

I'll try to get the days off, but I may have to be sick on Sat at least to ride 1 full day. Depends on what routes and times you guys pick. Even if I have to work Fri and Sun, I can still swap shifts or hang out with you guys :beerchug:

I have available rooms if someone needs to a place to crash.

We were thinking wishfully about doing this. At this point, looks like it ain't gonna happen.

Take lots of pics!

If you and the Mrs. decide to go, you have a room and a garage for a launching point in AZ.

We are not sure if we can make it ourselves. However if you folks want to take advantage of our hospitality, come on over.

Thanks a million for your hospitality. If we decide to go, we may do that. More than likely, we would trailer the bikes.

Trailer? What is this "trailer" thing you speak of?

Just kidding! Anyway, the offer stands.

Sweet.

Lou, if you and Nan could make it, well...what a surprise that I'd be meeting you here instead of in NM.

Coolio!!!
