SoCal Riders Lets Ride 12/13-12/14

Seems like I always have to work or do something else while you guys go have fun. My riding group is having a poker run this Saturday, 12-13-2008, for Toys for Tots. The ride is from 11am to 330pm. The meet is at Dodge Valley Oasis in Warner Springs, CA. $25.00 plus a toy per rider. Live music. I know you guys in the area will be out riding but I just thought I put it out there anyway. Have fun guys.

The Dr. doesn't need to know anything about when I get back on a bike...if I would have already got the parts, then I would be wrenching this week and riding this weekend. I think I'll be able to wrench and ride in another two weeks.

Gasing up the beast tomorrow when I get home from work. I've got new tires and fresh oil. Chain is freshly lubed. My bags are packed. All I have to do is wait for 5:00 am Friday morning.

Scar I know we decided on 4th St. in El Centro at around 11:00 am, and we're going to meet at Carls Jr.... It doesn't have to be Carls, just let me know where you want to meet. See ya Friday, and I'll give you a call tomorrow evening, just to touch base....

Lamb tells me that those are some rather recognizable spots right off the freeway, Danny. Otherwise, I'm completely unfamiliar with El Centro, except to know that it's not a (how-shall-I-say) destination spot. We can just leave it at that, unless you're allergic to Carl's Jr.!!! :rofl:

I got fresh new tires, new oil and a clean, lubed chain, myself yo, just last night!!! Yee-hah; it's going to be a great time!

Glad to be back, abd with reference to the sea state, we had a couple of days were we were walking on the bulkheads bu ton the return trtio i rode the carrier back, so we couldnt tell the difference being underway :lol:

Do we have an itenerary for the weekend so i know what to bring.
Breakfast sounds good too.

Riding Sunday too. Doing the southern route. We are meeting at the Greenfield exit off the I-8. There is a mobil station to the south. 8:30 meet Wheels in motion at 9:00.

Where are some of the stops on your poker tour? We will be riding in that area all day.

Saturday the 13th of december. Meet at Pala casino at 9:00, leave at 9:30. There is a great big gas station out front. Ride to Palomar montain....out to Montezumna Valley.... out to The Borrego (lamb) desert. Yaqui pass and up the Banner grade to lunch at Julian at approximately 12:30-1:00. Take our time at lunch and ride back out to Palomar through Santa Ysabel and Mesa Grande. We will early dinner at Pala casino. Approximate time will be 4:00 They have a giant buffet and we can gorge to our hearts content. The northern guys will have a nice jumping off point to go home and the southern guys won't have that long of a trip home. Lamb will try to post some maps if he can.

A quick reminder for Everyone. Pala casino is on state route 76. 10 miles east of I-15

Sunday will be the Eastern San Diego loop. Greenfield mobil and the I-8 will be the starting point at 8:30 meet and 9:00 leave. We will ride all the great roads of east county including Sunrise Highway, Lyons Valley, Japatul Valley, Banner grade and the S2. The goal is to have the Phoenix guys to the I-8 and Ocotillo at 12:30 or so because they have a long slab home. Sundays ride is a bit more up in the air at this point based on how the Phoenix guys feel. There is a lot of dropping off points to get you guys home quicker etc. if you so choose.

Dan: I know you've probably bedded down for your early-morning departure from Phoenix; but...

A new guy on the board (mschivs173/Dwayne) is joining me in the morning for our trek out to El Centro to meet you.

Just be advised that you'll be looking for two 'busas instead of one!!!

Seems that the first 'official acts' of the SoCal weekend ride are underway...

Danny (Copperone) left Phoenix this mornin and is rollin' West.

Hey, all...Dwayne and I got to El Centro to meet Danny at exactly 11:00 this morning. On our way back to SD, we sliced up some local favorite roads.

We arrived back at my house 15 minutes or so ago, and are getting ready to meet Lamb and head to dinner.

Anyone want to guess where? :laugh:
