Stolen

wow bummer!
i guess you already learned "NO TEST RIDES!"
i don't know of ANY dealership that will let you test ride. same should go for private sales. :rulez:

im deeply sorry for your loss.

yeah where im from a dealer will let you test ride with nothing but your dl its a southern thing but if i find the guy me and my kimber will show him the other side of southern hospitality

I don't understand how just because you allowed him to ride it that it is not considered theft and INS won't cover it ?
Theft is theft .
You were in process of selling it when person rode off and never came back . What term other than theft can an INS co use ?

I didnt have full coverage on it so ins isnt responsible i was 18 when i got it and the insurence company told me that as long as it was at my house that home owners would cover it so be an idiot i belived them iv learned alot about trusting ppl threw this these things wont happen again

D*M that sucks, had a bike stolen from in front of my house a few years ago the sting never fully goes away. INS co and army post both gave me the shaft. I agree with BB if said person rode off into the sunset on your bike without exchanging money then thats stealing.

well i did find out somthing good today i talked to the state police and they said in a couple weeks i can go to court and get the 02 busa the guy left behind so i guess new project with no funds could be worse could have lost both bikes i guess

wow...so though the guy left a stolen busa at your house, you'll be given that bike and not the original owner? I'm sorry bro, I know it'll compensate a little bit for your loss, but should the original owner deserves to get it back, specially as it's now found?

thats the thing that bike is not coming up stolen and they cant find the owner so i guess the pos bike belong to somthing connected to all of this the 02 is rough and idk what im goin to do with it

something is not adding up here....i think cops are doing a sloppy job...if the bike is not stolen, it has to have a registered user. If the bike is registered (duh!), it also gotta have insurance. If it has insurance, then there's an address or someone should be making a payment. If someone is making a payment, there's gotta be a checking account or credit card account that it's being paid from. If there's account, then there's address, banks security footage based on last transaction at bank, where credit card used, etc. etc.

Yeah but that would mean they would have to do police work and that dosent pay very well so they just tell me they cant find the guy and that they have done all they can

hey i go to quite a bit of the bike nights here in MO, i will be keeping an eye out for your bike thats for sure and the guy and any other kind of descriptions would help also...

i can say that what is the real give away on the bike that it is mone is on the right side of the fram there are 2 small white scratches there i sanded the sticker off also if it still has the original plastic and tank there are no stickers and right side has been discolored and roughed up where the stickers use to be also the tank sticker on the right side has a small notch out of the sticker and clear coat where someone tried to take that sticker off it also has black powdercoated footpegs but the shifter is still alum and so is the bottom plate of the footpeg

Have you check with the state police in neighboring states to see if anyone has been arrested with same m o?
he may be a repeat offender.

Yeah but that would mean they would have to do police work and that dosent pay very well so they just tell me they cant find the guy and that they have done all they can

Dude, I'd be very leery of this. If they aren't doing their jobs now somebody else may later on. It would really suck for you to go down or get a ticket and the bike comes back stolen when a cop does a thorough check on the vin.

That bike has to be associated with someone somehow.

If you are given the bike by the courts make damn sure you keep all paperwork in a safe place just you can cya.

 I would not feel right riding the stolen bike the thief left there after he stole my 08. It would just bring back terrible memories.

put the 02 up for sale on craigs list with a different address...maybe the guy will try again...

I never allow test rides unless I have something that I can ride on the will keep up and always carry in case they do run. Not that I could ever pull and hit anything...
