Suzuki Corporate and the 08 RECALL

So as long as the gray tape is covered by the zip tie it is routed right? am i correct in this???

my vin falls in the range but apears to be routed right ... the gray tape is covered by the zip tie.
That is not correct... The grey has to be covered, the wires in the bundle have to be correct and it has to be routed correctly...

So why is it that we have all this great information via the WEB and the Dealers act like they've received no details from Suzuki? I spoke to my dealership yesterday and was told "it shows a recall in the system, however when I click on the link no details are available". They were suppose to call their Suzuki rep today and get back to me, however no call received. SHOCKER!

Do you think they are thinking the bike is sold, so no big deal to actually get it to the customer.... Let's worry about our next sale..?

The TSB hasn't been issued to US dealers. When they release the TSB your dealer will have all the information they need to get you taken care of.

Get this - have asked my UK dealer..... Suzuki UK know nothing of the recall...

WTF?

Does anyone know the ETA for the release of this info to US dealers?
Yep..... Friday, June 6, 2008.

For Suzuki USA, it is: "Safety Recall Campaign #2A05, GS/GSX/GSX-R Bulletin No. 183"

The challenge some of you apparently have is getting your Suzuki dealer to properly log into the Suzuki Connect network and find Bulletin No 183!

I suspect the VIN range of UK-sold K8's is apparently not affected.

I will wait until the recall repairs are in full swing and then take her in for a look. I fully expect to get the old run around at the dealership.

Okay,

Fingers crossed, dealer called and the bike is all set. Should be picking her up tomorrow. Woo hoo!

Kind of strange though, I asked if my bike was effected and they said they didn't think so, they just did an inspect only..? Didn't give me the warm and fuzzy, but this was the salesperson I was speaking with. I guess we'll wait and see.

Hi to everybody.
I learned about this recall from HAYABUSA.org.
I bought my 08 from an independent importer because of the price,(13995 euros from SUZUKI Rep. and 12500 from the independent importer).
As a result there is not any warranty for my bike from SUZUKI Rep. allthogh i believe that this is not legal
Beside this i called my mechanic, who is a very good friend of mine and SUZUKI authorised service dealer in Greece and he didn,t know anything about the recall.
So i printed the brochures i found in this topic of the incorrect and the correct wiring routing and visited him.
My wiring harness was indeed misrouted, and he fixed it simply by disconnecting the wiring harness plug and routing again the wiring according the correct way brochure. It was 15 minutes job and now i don't have to think that i will face any problem while riding my baby.

whats the total to fix the problem? mine is getting looked at wednesday... it is running fine...not sure if im going to ride it or not... best of luck to everyone.later

I thought you guys paid a ton of taxes when something comes through customs?

You're not superstitious are you?

Congrats and have fun with your new affair. The Gen II is superior to all bikes.....even the Busas older sisters.

Got an envelope in the mail yesterday from Suzuki, big red letters "SAFETY RECALL NOTICE"

Not too much more info than I had already read here.

Has anyone had any luck having the dealership pick up their bike to do the recall? I am getting the feeling that I am going to have a problem getting my dealership to pick it up and I do not have anyway of getting it there.
As you know I have sold the bike and he is not going to pick it up until around the 25th of June.
