suzuki oil

I would use a Full Synthetic like oh I dunno... SILKOLENE Pro-4 Full Synthetic... After about 2500 miles or so... I love it.

HEll if I know!!! Seriously, I don't have the foggiest. But when I told my mechanic I switched to Silkolene at 2K miles he raised an eyebrow. I still think it's old school Voodoo they are worried about... I have heard others say don't switch to full synthetic until 5k etc...

I dunno...

I just posted these questions on the wrong board.  (busa problems.  oops.)

Anyway - I don't understand why it would be a problem at all.  My question is also - why wait?  I put it in as my first oil change at 600 miles.  Should I be worried?

Something else... I used Shell Rotella T 15w-40. Any issues with that instead of the 10w-40?

Any viscosity experts out there?

Suzuki oil is garbage. Doesn't even make a good sexual lubricant...

I've been using the Mobil1 MX4T since 2000 miles on the odometer. Haven't had any problems to speak of so far.

ok i knew suzuki didnt make there own oil. im planning on switching to maxima, silkolene, or repsol oil. going to have to change my oil when i get back from okinawa in a couple more months. going to stick to regular oil for a couple thousand miles then switch to synthetic. have over 4000 miles on bike. but suzuki dealership told me two different milage that i can switch to synthetic. first time he told me around 5000 miles, now he says 8000 miles.

Suzuki oil is garbage.
And what praytell is the scientific explanation behind that comment?

You compulsive oil guys need to chill. I'll bet you can't find a single member of this board who can document even one motor failure attributable to choice of oil.

Suzuki oil isn't "junk" - if it meets the mandated service grade and viscosity index as prescribed by the owner's manual (and of course it does), you won't harm your bike a bit.

No go wash your hands twenty times!

I like Shell Rotella T full syn.

Superb oil, at about one quarter the cost of the Pro4 I used to use.

It doesn't have the expensive little picture of a motorcycle on the bottom though. The horror!

As compared to other oils, it's basically just what I said... "GARBAGE!!!"   You act as though you didn't hear me the first time.  And why pray-tell did YOU switch?

Well, I switched because the Shell is a better product that costs the same money.

I stopped blowing $10 a quart on "premier" bike oils when I sold my Ducati, two of the best decisions I've ever made.

Edit: In fact, I think the Shell dino is even cheaper than the Suzuki stuff. I just rolled over 3,000 miles on my 6 week old '04 Limited. The full syn Shell's going in this weekend. Still so cheap I'm laughing all the way to the bank...

VERY HIGH ASH content is that better

The only reason to wait is your next oil change.  ie 1500 miles 3000 miles or how every you chage oil.  Use a pemium syn.  All the top syns are OK and debatable which one is the best.

Hey all.  Just got the bike back from the dealer.  They changed the oil, tightened, examined, etc. front to back.  Bike's running great.

I asked the service writer about putting synthetic in... Guess what his response was?

I read through one of the links above. That's some really great information about synthetic oil vs. motor oil vs. motorcycle oil.

I think everyone should take a gander at those links. Synth - according to those links - is a no brainer. Anyone look at those links? Makes me want to go down and get my synth right now and get it going today.

Anyone read that stuff?
