At what mileage should you make the switch.
I built my 08 turbo engine and dumped 10-40 red line in her. Then heat cycled her for about 2 hours and let her cool...Then proceded to tune and beat the **** out of her. MANY MANY PULLS OVER 400HP. Needless to say the first 40 miles were hard ones...Bike has 3000 miles on it and I just did a leakdown test...........0% across the board. ENOUGH SAIDAt what mileage should you make the switch.

Motorcycle 10w-40 because of the extra zink and phosphorus they put in it. I have a lockup in it now but I used to run Red Line in my 1397 busa stock clutch no slipping what so ever. In my oppinion the clutch slipping issue some people claim with synthetic oils was from the first ones on the market. Most of the major companies have addressed this issue. There are many reasons to run synthetics over petrolum based oils, but they are a little costly.Hi boosted,
which Red Line did you use,the racing 40wt,the diesel or the motorcycle 10w40?
Had you ever faced clutch issues with OEM clutch and springs?
thanks

Go to Red Lines site and they have an additive product you will love.........{hint...zink/phos}Hi boosted,
I agree, synth all the way for my sugar also.
Unfortunately the manufacturers started reducing the Zinc and Phos levels in the automobile oils, and the trend influenced the bike oils also.
I am considering using a home blend made by myself with race oils to increase durability...
