That ONE question !!

OMG This is a good topic. In my youth I have let people ride my bikes before but I worry every second. One of my friends dropped by ninja1000 (UTURN DROP) and he offers to PAY FOR PAINT?

?? I like new plastics not bondo on my panel, NO thanks. I only let one person ride now. He is an ace mechanic, boats, bikes, cars anything and he is very wealthy and could buy me ten bikes and he rides better than me. Most importantly, he is not petty with money. He values my friendship more than a couple thousand in parts. Everyone else might say they will pay for repairs but putting the cash on the parts counter is something else. Just tell people you can't let them ride without 11k in cash.

First off let me just say if you asked anyone of my friends they would tell you that I would give the shirt off my back to ANYONE.......Now with that said,

What do YOU do when someone (a friend) asks to ride your bike ? I let my friend one time ride it, and he said he was going to take it down the street, and back, so that's what I thought he was going to do. After 25 min.'s I started getting that sick feeling in my stomach. 40 min. later when he pulled up I was in a sweat !!! When he pulled up I was kind of upset, and he said "why were you so worried, you have full coverage" ? Well my insurance is already $290.00 a month because I reported it stolen last year. An accident would KILL ME !! And that right there tells me if something would happen, he wouldn't pay for it, right ?
Man, I won't even ride other peoples bikes, that I'm riding with. I know they are just machines, but I love my bike. And he keeps hinting around to me about letting him take my bike on a ride sometime, I think he's talking for like the day ?

Am I being petty ??
Wow $300 a month just for insurance...call Gieco or Dairyland...

I only let family ride my bike. When friends ask I just brush it off and change the subject, they get the hint. All of my friends are broke and I wouldn't see a dime if they wrecked it.

None of my friends ride & my dad it scared of it, so i dont have to worry about that question coming up anytime soon.

i would never ask sum1 to let me borrow there bike, i wouldnt want that responsibility on my shoulders and 2nd i wouldnt let anyone ride my bike ive invested way to much money and hard work into it without anyones help for sum1 else to enjoy
and its a BUSA! we arent talkn bout a lil 600 light bike so you even dare yourself to ride a busa without any experience
to this day i still hear all the jokes about how over protective i am over my BUSA but ill never get that worried sick feeling thats for sure

I let my long time friend ride mine about a month after I got it. But this was a guy that back when I didn't have a bike, he would loan me his for the weekend.

The only other person to ask was riding a Hardley. I said sure just leave me the keys to your ride in case you don't come back.

Dairyland is who I have, LOL !! Gieco doesn't do motorcycle insurance in Delaware ?

it kind of depends are their net-worth and riding experience.
+1

My dentist, a good friend, rides a sweet zx12r. We traded and took each others bike for a ride.
If your friend would not pay you back after crashing your bike, you have an acquaintance, not a friend.

cheers

Not gonna happen! The only other person who has ever ridden or worked on my bike is the guy I bought it from.

There are a few people I would let ride my bike, but they are older and have many years of riding experience, and I know they would pay to fix whatever they broke. An since I ride a busa, there really aren't any other bikes out there I'd care to ride. In my mind, the Hayabusa is the only bike.

Last year a guy here in town let a friend and his girlfriend ride his bike. They were on the bike for a total of 20 seconds and they were both dead. That is something no one should have to live with!

I let my Son ride mine a couple of times, drove me out of my mind.

Anyone else can go get jumped...I got no problem saying NO!!

I loaned out the ole gixxer 750 more times than I can count, but as for the Busa, Nobody has rolled it, not even the dealer. On both my purchase and 600 mile service it was raining and the service department was unable to test ride. So I have put every single mile (all 4000 of them

) on her. There are a few people I'd let take her for a spin, but that list is very small, OK maybe 2 people long.

Ride my bike? About as good a chance as touching my wife. Touch and be ready to pay for it with your a$$. NO friend would expect to be able to touch either. Your friend is using you and is thinking of you as a sucker. Don't do it again your luck will run out and you will loose your bike due to crash or them blowing it up. If he respected you he would have kept his word.

Don't touch my wife...&...don't touch my bike...IN THAT ORDER!! My REAL friends all respect each other and we never ride each others bikes---don't even ask. Just that simple!

A friend will understand when you say no. There are very few people who have ridden my Busa, and all of them are people I normally ride with.

I have only let 2 other ppl ride my bike...1 has a busa and the other is a very good buddy of mine and I was on his GSXR 1k.....right next to him...

I only would let my close friends ride that I know would respect the bike and only if they have enough experience. But being that most of my riding buddy's ride Busa's its not a big deal.
