The B-King is dead. Already?

I am new to this 4m and would like to know why some Busa owners feel so threatened about the B-King. You know, the ones who are always chiming in on the "B-King" discussions. There is a lot of truth to the saying that criticism can sometimes be the highest form of flattery. It is as though they are happy to see it go out of production. Is it because it shares the same drive train? I met a Busa owner that is on this 4m. He has an 08 and spoke highly of the B-King after riding it. He want's one. I am sure that there are people who think the Busa looks like a bug with wheels, and cruiser owners who think that you look strange laying on your tank while riding it in what looks like it's very uncomfortable position. Not many of the "naked" bikes make large numbers in sales. The ZRX 1200r is a good example. It has to be one of the best all around motorcycles ever made. But it wasn't sold in this country after 2005. I like it's hard retro looks and it is powerfully fast and handles like it it on rails. It is on my list even though it isn't sold here any more. I personally don't care what other people think as long as they didn't pay for what I ride. I just can't live with a bike that I can't get comfortable on, but you won't hear me ever put down a sport bike or would I ever be happy to see them go out of production. Mabe it's because I'm not threatened by them !!! The B-King dethroned the new $18,000 Vmax at half the price. You can get two and an after market exhaust too for the prices they are selling for. I could be wrong, but I think the B-King will become a cult icon like the ZRX 1200r that sells for $1800 less than it did new. That appeals to me, and may not to you. And buy the way, all motor vehicle mfg. that sell in this country by law must make parts for 10 years unless that has changed very recently. Keep the B-King. There are a lot of Busa's and you will "always" be able to get one at a good price, that is unless they stop making them also.

I guess in today's economy I am one of the fortunate. I own both a First generation Busa with some modifications and a 08 B-King. I think anyone that takes the time to ride one will be impressed. In terms of support in the states we have 10years mandated but lets face it this is a parts bin Bike. The drive train is busa (injector bodies had a different part number) The forks appear to be GSXR 1000. That said take one for a ride. That is what sold me the bike

OMG:rofl: Wow, I finally peek over here, on the other side, and notice that WELL over half of you guys have truly forgot about why we ride in the first place... :rulez:(if I have to tell you...) If some of you guys spent as much time on your bikes as you did defending them on a forum, you all would have at least 2grand Xtra miles on 'em. not pokin' fun at anyone:poke:, I love the B-king, and the Busa. hell, I have even seen some "baggers" i would ride. However IT DOESNT MATTER, Its what YOU want...Geez you guys need to stop. And BTW: I will not respond to any gay/stupid/imature/busa OR b-king bashin comments, so plz dont bother. put your hands to better work; on a throttle...Later:thumbsup:

If it was ever dead, someone must have given it the kiss of life, as there are more and more people buying them now, dont know if its because the price has been dropped, but I think it because more are going for a test ride on them now,and then they are hooked, also people are seeing what B King owners are doing to their bikes, mainly getting rid of those oversized drainpipes, who ever designed them should be fired, then shot, them pipes have to be the most off putting thing of any motorcycle I have ever seen.

My Suzuki Rep just left here and said that B-Kings are flying off the floors now. If they continue to sell as they are, they might put it in the hopper to bring them back at a lower price point. Ironically...as I'm talking to my rep, my wife strolls in and proceeds to start paperwork on the B-King for me!

So now my new King with a custom-made Two Bros exhaust is currently in the prep department...and it's raining today and tomorrow...!!!:banghead:

 Nah, wasn't the rain that prevented me from getting it home. Since I'm the service manager I get a salary and have to trade off luxuries like lunchtime. Couldn't get out for an hour to drive home, get my Z1000 (trade in) and get back to work. Actually glad I didn't bring it home right away...the wife said strictly no aftermarket parts for a little while...she'll never notice the LED signals I installed yesterday...tee hee hee.

Today is the day however. About to saddle the Kawsaki for the last time and ride the King home!

I don't ride in the rain unless I get caught in it. Bikes can not stop worth a flip when in the wet and you never know when a ding-bat is going to pull out in front of you. Think they don't see you when dry? You are nonexistent in the rain.
Show us those new turn signals!

I don't mind getting caught in the rain. Don't mind riding in the rain. However, the B is tall enough I'm on my tiptoes at stop lights. Couple that with water, oil and antifreeze...and every stop is an adventure.

I'd wait, too.

Rode my new B King home 30 miles on December 26, 2008 in light rain and near freezing conditions - Could not wait!!!

Wow...I mean...wow. I have almost 200 miles on the bike since I got off work yesterday at 6pm and I never wanted to come home! This bike is freakin' amazing! All the hype from everyone that's ridden one is absolutely valid IMO. Trading in my beloved
Z1000 for the B-King was such a great decision.

So in less than 2 days of having the bike I've put on a couple hundred glorious miles and have had at least 4-5 conversations that started with a variation of "Wow, what the heck IS that?" One thing I loved about my Z was what I call the 'traffic stop factor' which is how well the bike illicits looks. After the mods to my Z people looked at it like it was a ferrarri or something. I'm happy to say the King is not all that far behind with the traffic stop factor. With only the two brothers exhaust and some led signals, I caught attention everywhere I rode this weekend.

As I sit here, all I keep thinking about is getting to ride the bike to work tomorrow...:cheerleader:

Cool! They are really nice bikes. I like mine a lot. I'm old and don't care what people think about my bike because I'm impressed with it. I'm most impressed with the wind blocking this bike has. I'm big and it does a excellent job. Not to mention the power, my back tire already has way more miles than the front:shocked:

Wind blocking is WAY better than I expected as well. I'm 6'3'' 290lbs and didn't get nearly as beat up as I used to on my Z1000. Didn't expect that.

Now on to the Buell peg mod so my legs will actually fit...
