The B-King is dead. Already?

Ok So I am one of those damn fools that have multiple bikes. I was also one of the first people to say how ugly the B-King was. How it looked like a rolling coffee table from the front. and WTF those pipes! Last Thursday I took my Goldwing in for its yearly inspection and sitting on the floor are to B-Kings and one has Two Brothers Slip ons and LED tail light kit. The manager, who knows I have impulse control issues asks if I want to ride it , then he asks again (you ask me twice to ride a Honda 50 or anything else I am going to at least take it around the block.) so I say yeah.
After rolling it out he starts it. This is where it grabbed my attention (now my Busa is an 05 with a hahn turbo kit and fuel rail going out through a micron can so it is quiet) The King with slip on is not! It snapped to life with a SNAP. Swinging my leg over I the seating position reminded me of the KTM Super Duke I rode last year for a bit. Rolling out of the dealer ship I accidentally had the wheel up right away. After that little boo boo I settled in and took it through a collection of different types of roads. What a hoot! While it does not handle as well as my 999 it certainly does handle quite well. (A bit wider bars would give the rider a bit more leverage at low speed. For me tank width disappeared at after the first 30 seconds. My Busa is a sophisticated machine that goes by all but unnoticed most days. The B-King screams the Dennis Leary song , I am an A**hole the whole time you are on it. Where the my Busa will do everything it is suposed to and more and do it is sort of a stealth mode , the B-King anounces it is going to kick your a** and does.
Thu Ducati leaves Wednesday and the King Joins the 05 turbo Busa in the garage. Yeah its Ugly but you only get to look at the tail light quit whining.

Hep B kings are cool and now that you have tied them into that song, even cooler. love that song:thumbsup:

I just bought one Friday, it was used with 1900 miles, devil exhaust and a led tail light. I think the guy was scared of it? i can relate, though I'm not scared, but you better like wheelies because the front wheel never see's the earth while in 1st.
It's a grin maker:cheerleader: It comes up in second for some distance also. It feels faster than my 04 Busa? Not sure about that though. Put a throttlemeister on it that came off one of my past bikes.
Loads of fun plus it's hard to believe they sell theses to just anyone

Personally, I reckon the B-K is this decade's Katana.

In 20yrs time they'll be a classic.

I recommend those of us that replace the standard cans should stash 'em in the shed and sell them for an obscene profit when the restorers start looking for them.

Hey guys, new to the forum...actually this is my first post. Joined up because I'm considering a B-King since I work at a Suzuki dealership and walk past one everyday. As a couple weeks passed...I started to sit on it...then read reviews...then began to seek out aftermarket mods...then a few days ago we put it in our ad for $8499...AND THEN I found out there's 2.95% financing for it too!

So anyways, here's my :2cents: about the way it looks...I currently ride a 2008 Kawasaki Z1000. This is a bike that, like the King, sold so poorly they decided to nix it in the states for '09. And, like the King, will still be offered overseas where naked bikes seem to be much more popular. When I bought my Z1000, sitting under 2 inches of dust from noone looking at it twice, everyone would make comments like "Wow, that looks like a retarded dirtbike." and "What IS that? That's the ugliest sportbike thing I've ever seen." People said the exhaust pipes were 'hideous' and 'ridiculous looking', the mirrors looked 'stupid' ect. ect. ect. So fast forward one year later...I've thrown on a 2 Bros exhaust, CRG bar end mirrors, fender eliminator, and a bellypan I ordered from overseas. With ONLY those simple mods, I park in front of my dealership everyday and my bike draws a crowd. I get at least a half-dozen compliments on it a day!

Bottom line: if you can see past the B-King's stock exterior and see the potential, there's one helluva bike there! Furthermore, the King could be around for years to come overseas and because there will always be enthusiasts that love streetfighters, aftermarket accessories will never completely die. I need to wrap this up and post my Z1000 for sale then get to sleep...can't wait to get to work tomorrow and sit on my near future purchase again... :please:

I traded my Z1000 for a new B-King in April of this year.

Best decision I EVER made.

B.

I started considering the B-King after several guys on the Z1000 forum I'm always on made the switch. Every one of them had nothing but great things to say about it. Just sold my Harley and had to take my Z on a 150 mile run last weekend...ugh. The King seems much more appropriate for a longer ride than a Z1000. Not to mention I'm 6'3'' 285lbs...when i ride the little Z it looks like I'm trying to wrestle it to the ground! One sit on the King and I could tell it was a better bike for a man of my dimensions

I am six foot three and 97 kilograms and the B-King is just the right fit for me.
I would say it feels damn near perfect for my size.
I liked my Z1000 a lot - a very underated bike indeed.
But I am MADLY in love with my B-King.
It is just SOOOOO MUCH better in every possible way.
Perhaps the MOST missunderstood bike on the entire planet.
I think the engineers at Suzuki who fought to have this bike finally go into production deserve some sort of medal.
They had true vision.
A machine so different that only a select few could appreciate it.
That having been said, absolutely EVERYONE who rides one walks away raving about it.
It will spoil you for just about any other bike.
They all feel like anemic little scooters by comparison.
The King is "THE" King - long live the KING.
I guess you can tell how I feel about this issue.
Regards
BRIAN

I had a 03 Z1000, fun bike for sure, my bro-in-law just got a 08 Z1000 with 2 bro's, it sounds good, my b-king with 2 bro's sounds great:whistle:.

Take the plunge and make the purchase you will be very happy:cheerleader:

I have said it before and i will again, B-King are awesome bikes.

My only issue now is getting the wife to go along with a B-King purchase prior to selling the Z1000...???
I used to have one of those, it's just not worth it! (wife)
Biggest ass scratching event I ever attended.
I'm thinking about buying a 08 Orange and Black busa, just because I like the color. Never had a wife that would go for that even if you had already put her in a Mercedes to drive. I can hear it now, "you don't need that!"
Makes me want to spend a grand before dark just to celebrate celibacy.:cheerleader:

I can't complain about my better half too much, she's a rider herself so she understands the addiction more than most.

Just got off the phone with her...told her I was gonna work a deal for the King and sell the Z1000...that went over reeeeeeeeeal bad . I believe the line was "You just spent all that money to get the Z where you want it and now you want something else??? I don't know why we buy anything since you always want to get something better than what you have." aaaaaaaand ended up with being hung up on.

Well, it will be a quite night. I think she has a different addition philosophy?:banghead:
And a little :kissass: might help?

I am firm believer in marriage! I am on my third! (Although she assusers me that she will be the last and she owns 2 wlathers and a S&W)
!

 Might be a good one to stay with then.

Oh boy...I think I want the King even worse now. My parts guys just got a custom Two brothers exhaust in I'm supposed to have my techs mount up. Custom B-King badge on the side of the pipes, all black bolts, and shorter so they don't stick out past the tail. DANGIT!!! Must have the B-King!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cheerleader:
