The B-King is dead. Already?

It amazes me when people take someones word and runs with it without researching the truth. Folks, just because it is dead in the US, that doesn't mean it's dead. There is that little place called THE REST OF THE WORLD where the B-King is selling just fine. It is a very unique bike with a time tested powerplant behind it. I remember when the Hayabusa was introduced, most people were appalled by its looks and look what it turned into. A lot of people consider their opinion to be definitive, they should keep their opinion to themselves and let the people who love this bike enjoy the hell out of it without these guys trying to put it down. Just my two cents.

Facts are facts...they quit importing them into the U.S. because nobody was buying them, so, in the U.S. anyway, we have every right to call it like we see it. Obviously most of us see an ugly bike
Its probably fun as h*ll to ride.....but looking at it sucks

Everyone is entitled to have their opinion but I quite like the look of it. I have always loved the Hayabusa and for me it was a toss up between the two. I would love to have one of each but the wallet and the marriage wouldn't have it. To me the look of the King matches the power perfectly, it packs a punch and looks like it's going to jump up and beat the crap out of you. I'm not saying it's better than the Hayabusa, I'm just saying I like it better than the Hayabusa. The power is about the same, and the ergonomics are much better on the King (in my opinion). What really gets annoying is when people get stuck on the "traditional" look of sport bikes and anything different is bad. If everyone were this afraid to try something new we would all still be riding Cafe racers:laugh:

I agree 100%....there's been bikes I've owned that didn't fit the norm, but I still enjoyed the h*ll outta them. You're right about folks sometimes getting stuck on the "norm". Unfortunately the King is one of the few bikes I actually don't like the looks of...but I know I'd like the seating position wayy better than my busa  And if I rode one and liked it enough, and the price was right, I'd own one :beerchug: And don't worry if I or anybody else likes the look of the King.....if you like it thats all that matters
I own a 14 and think it looks great.........but most of the guys on here think its the next ugliest thing to Hillary Clinton. Do I care? H*ll no

The busa did not become beloved because of it styling but in spite of it. I remember vividly the smack that people talked about the "hump", its weight and it’s relatively poor handling vs. smaller lighter bikes!

But that engine -- wow the engine in that thing was a quantum leap ahead of everything on the road and still is by the way... Reliable, powerful, the fastest is hayabusa and that is what the hump stands for now... The hump says hayabasa and hayabusa says kicking ass and taking names. If you took that hump and stuck it on any lesser bike it would have been laughed into oblivion.

The B - King will be around and revered for the same reason - its engine - add comfortable ergonomics and I will bet you money will see the same basic set up for years to come. Folks will eventually associate the cans with it best attributes. If styling didn't change we would all be riding our sport bikes with huge side burns, handle bar moustaches, and "top hat" helmets. Try and have open mind - people come in all colors, shapes and sizes and so should motorcycles. Bike bigots need not apply!

I have Two brothers exhaust on mine and I love it. It is very quick and I ride it for enjoyment. Being old at 52, I don't want to lean over the tank like a Hayabusa. Same engine transmission etc. Just more comfortable for older guys. The guys with Hayabusas have pretty much all lost their licenses around my area. The bikes look good in the garage though! So, you young pups, remember us older guys want a killer engine and silly speed too! have to have some fun before we get too old!

Unless I won the lottery and had room in my wallet for 20 bikes, I'd never buy a B-King. But I do kinda admire Suzuki for going out on a styling limb like they did. I'm glad the rest of the world still gets the choice whether or not to buy one. Europeans get so many different bikes that we never see, its a shame, but that's our market.

Guys I'm going to make this short and sweet. Try to find a bad review of the B-King. You simply wont. Every tester absolutely raves about them. As far as looks - I think it is bold, different, and wild. Judge Dread would certainly approve. When the Hayabusa first came out I thought it looked like Barbara Streisand on steroids - that big ugly schnozz !!!

And finally, for anyone who hasn't ridden a B-King - please don't - because no other bike will ever float your boat - accept maybe it's little brother.

Those facts are mostly true, but I own a Vmax, and at least "I" like it :-) The thing I like about the B-King is it IS different.

Line up 20 different brands / models of cruisers, hide the drive train, and they all look, well, they look alike.

Line up 20 different models / brands of sporties and it's REALLY hard to say they don't look alike. This is good? OK I go along for their sake.

Did anyone ever see a bad review of a B-king? No why would you? Reviewers don't get paid to tell warts and all, they minimize problems, embellish good points. This is true in EVERY industry where people are paid to review products with VERY rare exception they all fit this MO.

Anyway, did anyone ever wonder why the B-king is generally reviewed with the new Vmax? I did, and came to the conclusion that they are the two most "unusual" looking bikes with kick ass thrust :-)

I want a King next to my Max... soon, soon...

It rides upright like a dirtbike, but still has all the BUSA power (170hp on the dyno at LCR) and after a couple years, very few will know what it is at all.

I go along with that! I have a Honda Magna that ran from 94 to 03, that's 10x more than the B-king and hardly anyone knows what it is. Recently I had a guy with GSX1000 follow me a long time looking at my 4 exhaust pipes finally he rolled up and said "WHAT IS THAT?" pointing to my motor. I told him a V-4 750 and he went on his way.

So much for the lasting memory of great bikes.

I have had my B King for four months now, and I can say its the best bike I have ever owned, and I have owned most of the big bikes out there,it has comfort, a nice sit up ride position, I sold my 08 ZZR1400 ABS to get it, and up to 100mph the wind protection is just as good as the ZZR1400, it looks big and heavy, but as soon as the wheels start turning, its as good as any sports bike, and from a standing start up to 160mph I can keep any other big bike behind me, remember it has the Busa engine, its just been tuned for more torque, and acceleration, it can get to 100mph just one second slower than a multi million pound F1 race car, I admit the looks aint the best, but get rid of the ugly standard pipes, and it starts to look better, from the front with the lens protector I put on its got the look of a transformer, but all most people see of my bike is the four rear pipes going off in the distance, dont knock it like I did, till you try it, it is one really great powerful bike, and dealers are selling them cheap at the moment, but its starting to get a cult following, and a lot more are getting sold, sorry for ranting on, but you have to ride it to realise just how good it is.

I sold my Busa last year because it was so unconformable for me.
I had reapers risers and helibars + Beull pegs.
But at 6.1@275 it is hard to get comfy on a Busa.
But i miss that bike like you can't imagine.
It handled good, excellent braking and mucho acceleration. It just gave a feeling of confidence and security that no other bike delivers.
My hands would go to sleep at about 20 miles (too much weight on them)
I am of the opinion that Sports bikes have no 'real' place on the street. They are race replicas and shine in that arena. (But I still love them)
So I am buying a B-King Friday in hopes of restoring some of that ride-ability bestowed on the Busa plus
I have always like the looks of the BK, though I think it looks better with the after market exhaust.
For those who were not around when the Busa hit the streets for the first time (or don't remember), it was considered "butt ugly" by all the Gixer guys and others from what I read, though I never thought so.
Naked bikes do not sell good in the US and never have, this is why the BK is not here now.

You will not regret getting a B King, I was going to get the new V Max, but I thought the asking price was to much for what it is, my dealer told me to take the demo B King out for a ride, and he bet me I would come back with a smile on my face, I did, and traded my 2008 ZZR1400ABS in for the B King right away, I have owned most of the big bikes including the Busa, did not like the Busa rideing position, and got pins and needles after about 100 miles, plus a pain in my neck as well, I soon sold it, but I intend to keep the B King, I can do 200 miles on it , and still feel fresh when I get off it, and the wind pressure is no more than the ZZR 1400 up to 100mph, it has the most torque of any bike I have ever been on, it will go up steep hills just as easy as going down them, the only downside of the bike, is it loves to drink fuel, I only get about 100 miles to a full tank of fuel, but thats down to my addiction to the power of this great bike, take it steady and you could prob get double that mileage, and whenever I pull in for a rest stop, I get people asking what is it, how fast , how much, and thats from bike and car owners, and nearly everyone like's the look of it, I wish you luck with your new B King, and know you will love it, I was a bit worried when I went for my first test ride on it, as it looked so big and weighty, but as soon as the wheels start to turn, its so easy to ride, and you can treat it like any sports bike, it really does handle that good.

This is a B King belonging to a Forum Friend, he has put blue led lights in his one, and he also has the Powerbronze headlight protector the same as mine.
