Its unreal to see all the destruction. My wife was almost out there this past weekend for a Ainsley Angels event. Her hotel ended up getting burned up as well. Despite the political belifs or ramifications, or wether or not you feel this is some higher powers will, people lost everything. Thats heartbreaking.

Due to it being winter here such resources are loaned to Australia for their warm weather season. Searching the Net I see some articles, "California may not loan equipment to Australia in the winter moving forward..."

To elaborate on the trump story about forest floors, the orange buffoon told us that people in Finland raked the forest floors, and that was why they don't have huge fires like we do in the USA. He said that the head of Finland told him that, something that the head of Finland denied ever saying. So it was just another of trumps over 30,000 lies while he was in office.

And for that stupid suggestion that we rake our forests along with the lying about it, he deserves to be laughed at. We sometimes have to laugh to keep from crying when it comes to the orange guy.

The earth doesn't care what houses and lives are in it's way.

Like it or not, Trump called the governor out in 2019 and was now proven right AGAIN...............................There is no telling how much the devastation would have been reduced with proper management, and previous controlled burns. But we know the damage would have been MUCH MUCH less, than his neglect has lead to.

So while all you democrats laughed at him in 2019, I bet he's smiling right now and I hope the citizens of California kick the governor out immediately because of this. This is gross negligence at it's finest, plain and simple here.

Sadly Democrats love to laugh at those who oppose them, but refuse to learn the lessons trying to be taught to them as their blinded by their own arrogance. WELL, Nature and the Earth have a way of snapping the arrogant back to reality, and it's often quick and full of pain - and Justifiably so.

Well in life, Adults need to make adult choices/decisions...............................while I agree we need to try and save every animal we can, it CANNOT be at the expense of human lives or public safety. I can only hope that citizens and the law holds this governor to account for the lives his negligence cost.

I personally think he's bang on......the entire internet world is sitting safe in their living rooms chastising the entire situation without any first hand knowledge or experience......

Everyone can do something better in hindsight....

The nice thing about living in a place like the US is if the people don't like something that is done, they can do something about it by either not voting in somebody or protesting them or their policies......with all the celebrities this has affected, you can bet they will all use their soapboxes to get something done as they seem to carry more weight than the average citizen these days.

Well according to Trump the other day, the US doesn't need Canada.............................So should Canada be recalling the 3 water bombers we have working down there putting out fires??????

Should we also be turning off the Crude oil supply to the US, which would then take our trade surplus, and make it a trade deficit.................Meaning that Canada is now SUBSIDIZING the USA???????

While I agree with Trump on many of his plans, and policies....................They way he is treating Canada these month, certainly is setting up for one hell of a trade war. While the US sells A LOT to the US, Canada supplies the US with A LOT of raw materials to do this.

I agree that Trump is looking out for the US, and that's to be expected.......................But don't think Canada will just sit here and take it.
When you control the raw natural resource, the buck stops with you and Oil and Hydro make up the majority of Trade between Canada and the USA.

The US people better keep Trump under control when it comes to trade, or everyone including them will feel the pain of it.

I live in a fire zone and the first three years I lived here my home insurance company declined to renew my policy. Took hours to find another company and I had this experience annually for three years. It wasn’t cancelled just not renewed. Each new company I found cost more of course. Geico has it now along with all my bikes and car. Renewal time is in June. Keeping my fingers crossed.

What is very apparent is the states mismanagement, reduced funding for forest fires, massive miscommunications at every level both before this event and during it.

What is very clear is that Trump was right in 2019 when he scalded Gavin Newsom for putting ECO hippy BS ahead of public safety, and the properties and livelihoods of those citizens he is supposed to be serving everyday.

So while Gavin sits up in his Ivory tower, telling residents that's something they will have to deal with.................meanwhile his own mismanagement, decisions and policies created the tinderbox they are dealing with today. Gavin sits up there denouncing those questioning him, when this man should be arrested and jailed for negligence causing death at a minimum. I'm honestly surprised residents haven't thrown him into one of the burning builds yet.

Don't worry, I'm sure Gavin will be held accountable.....................I just hope jail is guaranteed.
Maybe that will whip the smug look off his face once and for all.

I'm nor hear debating WHO started these fires, or denouncing those fighting it................................But I do hold politicians mismanagement partly responsible, and to those residents without fire insurance (while it's sad), they made an adult choice and thus will be left to deal with the consequences of it. From the video of his detainment by citizens, he had what looked like a small hand held fuel tank in one hand and the torch/valve mechanism that attaches to the fuel tank in his other hand. The kind you can buy at any hardware store. The video shows him next to a few plastic home size trash cans near a driveway and the road. No fires were seen or started. Each source named him as an illegal.

And all fire trucks aren’t water tankers. They carry personnel and other equipment and it’s not likely that out of state tankers would be driven to California with full water tanks. And (and) no vehicles from another state have to stop in to somewhere in Sacramento to have their engines smogged. Why the hell would fire trucks have to? Who the hell could believe such a story?

As for raking the forest floor. What a great idea! Completely impossible to accomplish of course but a real fire prevention tool…if only. trump has a penchant for repeating tidbits of what is told to him. ‘They’re eating the dogs…showers just drip drip drip’ for example. Even though he said it I doubt that he actually meant for the forest floors to be raked. He says a lot of things w/o thinking them thru.

However, some here may remember that I’ve griped and pointed out for years, that my nearest national park, Yosemite, has the worst forest floor management that I’ve seen first hand out of all the state and national parks and forests I’ve ridden thru. And that’s in eleven states, north and south and as far east as Mt. Rushmore. Downed trees (logs) litter the forest floor in Yosemite NP. If there’s a fire those dry logs will be perfect kindling for an absolutely huge forest fire. I’m 22 miles away.

Who’s fault it this really? The state and federal park and forestry management or their budget? Managers can be trained or replaced. Budgets have to be increased. And where does that money come from?

And don't forget that we all need to flush the toilets "ten, fifteen times". One flush usually takes all of my trump down the toilet, but you can bet that it does take him that many flushes to get all of that half digested fast food down.

If you CANNOT get fire insurance, or flood insurance....................than this is a clear indication that you are in a fire zone or a flood zone.

Now YES, the properties are much cheaper to buy, but they come with the risks. So the money you saved should be put aside for when things like this happen. Clearly many without insurance did NOT do this, and now they are expecting charity. I'm wondering if those who have insurance are willing to now pay even MORE for those who CHOOSE to ignore the risks.

Houses are cheaper in those areas for a reason..............................think about it, and either assume the risks of look elsewhere.

How does he know what the rest of America knows? Many of us lived there.

If he wishes to shrug off that it's believed homeless didn't set the fires, he's entitled to say so. His joke was a single homeless guy having a car and driving place to place setting fires. If California was governed by a republican, they would be blaming trump for years of mismanagement and cuts.

While I think Trump is the biggest A$$hole in the world, I don't disagree with his common sense policies.

What Trump is referring to in the toilet flushing video is very low water pressure, and low water volumes which weren't fixed years ago because your savour Gavin decided that fish and wildlife are more important than those he serves.

Citizens across the US all pay their property taxes, and expect water when they turn on a tap, hydro when they plug something in or flip a light switch, and Gas/propane when they want to fire up a grill. They expect clean roads, low crime, safe neighbourhoods and hope for respectful neighbours. All of this falls at the governs feet, and Gavin has failed at every single level of it and should be held accountable for it in a criminal court.

We all know, if Trump or ANY republican behaved like this you boomers would be calling for their heads.
