The election is over

Most definitely, have several friends that have told me just that.
I'm probably wrong (from my experience lol) but I expect a quiet 4 years from aptly nicknamed Sleepy Joe Biden. We've had 12 years of uproar and an agitated populace here in the U.S,. for different reasons, so maybe a little quiet might be for the best.

I believe some know how to deal with China, propaganda is a very powerful tool towards opening the eyes of depressed masses. Not submitting to technology transfer to do business is another. Not allowing currency manipulation is yet another among many.

It sure does not help if our leaders allow their family members to profit millions from business in China, facilitated by political favors.

Some of our leaders know how to preserve Amercan leadership and way of life in dealing with the Chinese threat, some ignore it and some benefit their families financially by not caring about America.

And here am I, just got out of quarantine from Covid for which China shows no sympathy, takes no responsibility and lies about it.
We aren't going to bring them down. If China had the problems we have with MAGAs, they would put them in prison or kill them. Their system allows them to do that and they don't worry too much about what the world thinks. Their president is elected for life, but he knows he has to perform or that can change. Besides, who out there is going to turn down Chinese products? Nike, Walmart, who?

Yes, China's young people are pushing the country more to the west, but we have a couple of Chinese in our office, and they still love China even though they are here. Their main problem is the pace of change in China, not the lack of it. The Chinese government doesn't want their country to follow the path of the US and sink into an amoral, materialist monster.

Americans don't see this. We have everything and we think everyone wants what we have, but they don't necessarily. That's why we consistently overestimate our influence. The best way to keep from having to learn Mandarin is to form alliances with other countries and indeed continents.

So while we let Trump put tantrum tariffs on friend and foe and Americans paid for it, China is building a strong footing in the next millennium with strategic leads in software development, especially AI. When we do projects here they are a building or maybe a couple of buildings. They build entire blocks or even entire towns. Americans think college is a waste of money.

So the sad thing is I think Trump has caused enough commotion that alliances are going to be very difficult to make. As long as he and his supporters are trying to bring the country down who wouldn't side economically with China? Isolation is silly. I had a Ford dealer I know tell me that globalization started in 1945, how are you going to reverse things now? Raw material sources, parts suppliers, secure/reliable shipping lanes can take decades to develop.

And what I keep bringing up is that obviously there was something going on with the fact your registration was not right. Then u go on to say that because Trump is willing to break any law or rule you don't know if that can be stopped which shows you believe there is a possibility it could be tampered with and stolen by someone. Then there's people in here arguing that there is no way that could happen so I used this as an example that it could be tampered with and that even you believed it was possible for it to happen with him willing to do such things. I don't like Trump don't like Biden but I am smart enough to know that ultimately the president is gonna be who the other politicians decide. My post u wanted to call me dopey for was not in any way my opinion except for the part where my eyes are well enough to see kids uncomfortable around Biden in the videos that are spreading on social media the rest was speaking on conversations I've had with people that I actually thought were Trump supporters and found out they actually weren't so I don't see where that comment came in at all.
Ok bro, whatever your point is you are right.

Most definitely, have several friends that have told me just that.
All this reminds me of 60s when we had lots of troubles, seems the wheels just keep turning and we never catch the tail.
On fun note, oil was indeed changed at dealer, relief.
Polished my sweetie today, aired tires and rode a while, let all the crappage blow away in the wind.
Love the Busa, I'm about to turn 67 and feel like a kid again, only ride i have now, wouldn't go back to 4 wheels for love nor money.
This too all shall pass, always does and we keep on keeping on. Hang in there and enjoy your bikes and friends and family, one day at a time.
Keep it simple.

Sounds about what I expected as a response, like I said I was just pointing out that even you yourself felt there was a possibility someone could in some way "steal"the election but once your candidate won seems no one wants to acknowledge there is a chance he could have done just that honestly I don't care who's in there my vote don't matter anyway. And you've yet to acknowledge wtf the "hence the dopey" was all about, but maybe on one of your trips back to Detroit I can buy you a beer and we can talk about it ;) :beerchug:. Maybe bring that busa and see what it can do on these $h!tty Michigan roads.

There’s a site that’s just right for you trumpeteers, sport-touring.net. Their politics section is loaded with a dozen or more of like minded (or mindless) members for you to share conspiracy theories with.

Lots of trumpeters are losing their babysitting jobs around the 20th. Maybe you could be his new caddy. Drive his cart, club him, keep his dishonest score card. He‘ll be the king of the out of work golfers and you could be his right hand man.
Look at you... all eaten up with TDS... what a sad way to view the president that helped create the most vibrant and robust economy the world has ever experienced... it must suck to be you.

We have a very complex game of Monopoly going on in this world... until the masses wake up the crazy people will continue to get away with the oppression that tyrants favor for their own personal gain...

What is the endgame for the meglamanics? Impeaching a president just days away from the end of his term poses two questions... what are the leftist afraid of? and what do they think they gain by impeaching him after he is out of office if that comes to pass?

I like the fact that they are attempting to ram through an impeachment... what it really does is show us how desperate they are to get revenge... that is what the impeachment is about... revenge...

Impeachment under these circumstances is a low bar goal / achievement.

The Dimtards have labeled themselves again for what they really are... losers, liars, and manipulators.

What conspiracy? You didn't mention one... so... did president Trump get prosecuted for Russia Russia Russia? The only conspiracies we really have are the ones nobody of significance has been arrested for... The list is long for all the number of conspiracies that were obvious to the people that are awake enough to see them for what they are. The DOJ should be called the Politicain Defence Department... Hillary could easily be hung for all the corrupt shitt that her and Bill have participated in.

I’m a pretty good chess player and I’ve been told that I’m fun to follow through twisties.
So... how come we don't play chess together... started when I was young... but I don't claim to be all that good at it.

Following through the twisties? lets go tomorrow morning... 9 am... Grand Ave and Highway 74 in Lake Elsinore... you ready to go?

Ok. I’ll move first. Pawn to Queen 4 or e4 as newbies call it.
Lol I’d love to. We have snow on the ground here. My bikes are on stands on battery tenders.
This is the time of year that I wonder why I dont live somewhere warmer.

You missed the point yet again my tin-hatted friend. I think everyone underestimated how crazy (or desperate) Trump was until Jan. 6th. Impeachment was necessary to keep Trump under control in the remaining few days of his term. It's no secret Trump was planning to declare martial law after his coup failed. Trump needs to keep telling his people that he is a 2024 candidate to keep the funds coming in and if he is impeached he will not be able to run again, so his fundraising ability will be severely limited. Money raised as a candidate is basically his to spend personally, PAC money is more controlled. So he needs viability as a candidate to survive.

Trump insulated himself long ago on the 25th amendment with loyal cabinet appointments. It's very likely a 25th amendment attempt on Trump would fail, leaving Pence out in the cold as having attempted a coup and certainly make him (and his family) a prime target for the rabid Republicans.

This is a very well played move by both Democrats and Republicans. I'm pretty sure this was thoroughly gamed out by Pelosi & Mitch (together). Mitch is amping up the threat to convict Trump to make this threat real and keep Trump from doing something stupid on a historical level. Make no mistake the Republican leadership want Trump out, as he has basically turned the Republican party into something more suited to a banana republic. However, the Republicans need the Democrats to be the bad guys in ending Trump's reign as too many of the rank and file Republicans still support Trump.

Of course, there is the fact that a sitting president of the United States participated in a coup attempt. It's crazy that something like that can go unpunished, or that people calling themselves Americans would stand for doing nothing.

Just sit back Arch, give it to them, buy cheap Chinese goods, throw in the towel and vote for a party who facilitates your beliefs.

Well, I'm still listening but not hearing a viable alternative. If we are to become isolationist and nationalists we are cutting off the very things that made us a great nation. I don't see how that all works.

Sadly, the west created China's economy prowess...albeit slowly and over time. We've lost our ability to make the products we rely on and are pretty much totally reliant on off-shore products..

That is never going to change, like I said before to start producing in the west would cost trillions with the consumer ultimately shouldering the bill either in taxes or end purchasing costs..

If a US company made a product and a Chinese company made the same product more inexpensively (like they are now) who'd buy the American product? Nobody is the answer....There is no way a North American company can compete and that is a sad fact. Hard to compete with a country which has no human rights and basically force their people to work for nothing.

Do I like this fact? Not at all, our children and grand children are in for a tough time I figure. There won't be a war with China as they can take over the global economy and that is where the power is.

Not pessimism, understanding. Every major age in human history has seen the leader fall and a new center of power emerge. I think Americans are so in the "winner take all" mentality that they don't understand that the civilizations that last the longest are not the ones who always lead, it is the ones who can flourish even in the number 2 or 3 spot. We are moving out of the industrial age, which we dominated, and into the information age (there are debates on that obviously). China is uniquely suited to an industrial economy because industrial economies define power by the number of consumers creating demand. Think of it like the best, richest local store in a small community getting swamped when Walmart comes to town. Can China reconcile the inherent materialism of industrialization with communism? Frankly, I doubt it but we'll see. On the other hand, can we throw off the tools of industrialism like capitalism to move to a higher level? I doubt that too. It is funny how the modern US economy hasn't been a capitalist system for 150 years and people still cling to the term to the detriment of simple solutions to our major economic problems.

The only way to beat China is to fundamentally change the game. One of the things I like about the green movement is that it slows down the industrial march, and so slows China. The one thing the Chinese leaders fear is not being able to provide their 1.3 billion people jobs. We don't need that sort of workforce to maintain the supply of essential goods, so China is dependant on the world's appetite for material excess. I believe green technology and power was our chance to lead the world for another 50 years and we have squandered it. The last 4 years were critical, we are now behind relatively smaller countries. The Rockefellers and Kennedys of the future will build windmills, batteries, and solar panels.

China is not, however, stupid. They are building software and Artificial Intelligence dominance that will carry them past filling the shelves at Walmart. We are getting out of alliances that are fundamental to our power, creating a modern-day slavery system through an unsustainable wealth gap, and not providing basics like health insurance. It's like the ship is sinking and rather than working to get off the ship, we are fighting over the space at the back of the boat so we're the last ones to go down. Pretty senseless, and yes frankly that's where I am pessimistic. This stuff isn't complicated but it takes a bit more noodling to get than buying weapons and storming the capital.
