The issues of the world......

Whew!

Lots going on around the world these days.......Syria is falling.........South Korea just went through an attempted coup.....Sudan has been enduring a civil war for months with hundreds of thousands dead......(not one single headline.....), Ongoing Myanmar civil war where hundreds of thousands have been killed (not a single headline....). Haiti has devolved into a failed state.....

I can see travel in the near future to be complicated......
 
Yesterday we had the neighbors over for a visit, (they have 6 kids) I asked the older twin boys (13) what significance does Dec 7th have? Even though we are Canadians, I learned all about the attack on Pearl Harbor in school as it was a significant event in history...


They just looked at me with blank stares.....I said do you know anything about Pearl Harbor and the attack the Japanese launched on it? They had no clue....I then asked if they knew about Japanese internment camps....again no clue......I then launched into a history lesson including informing them of a Japanese internment camp which was located not far from where we live.

These kids didn't even know when Canada entered into WW2....

I think the omission of these teachings is a sign of cancel culture, if it's not taught, it's not remembered.

Or perhaps simply being reabsorbed into the new ottoman empire. A revived Roman empire if you will. It's complicated but that was the last secular Baath government down there, they are all going hardcore religious. Turkey has long seen itself as the seat of Arab power and they openly talk about a reunification of all the Arab states, which of course were broken up when the British went down there to loot the place. And the Gas pipelines play a big factor but it was Turkey behind the overthrow.

ukrainians are losing 1,500 men a day over the last month - it's not mentioned but it is happening - 1,000,000 men injured or dead in total from both sides. Biden said lowere the conscription age to 18 years old, so more young men can be dead in the clay

Zelenski now on board with an 800 mile border zone giving up the already annexed territory so what was it all for ?
Blackrock already bought swathes of land in reparations, the only winners were the US Military Industrial Complex :(

Not just the US military industrial complex......all NATO countries participated in providing arms, training and supplies, the US had the lion share though....

Not to mention what was provided to Russia via it's allies.....

If you go digging, you will find lots of information.

1.) Go to any good investor website and start with one of the bigger MIC contractors, Lockheed Martin. Stock price 2021 lowest to now doubled. Means the market capitalization is now twice what it was before all the wars started. Then go look institutional investment. Vanguard and Blackrock are at the top of the list.

2.) Get factual information about how the MIC rewards politicians.

As the thread starter, I'm pretty open to all discussions so no need to apologize if we meander off the chosen topic.....

I'll start off......traditions in western culture are slowly being eroded....what was once a society founded on Christianity is slowly being over-come with inclusivity of other religions....Christian holidays such as Christmas are being marginalized to "holiday", Easter seems to have less and less meaning for people...Thanksgiving is being protested by Indigenous folk.

As more and more people are brought into Canada and the US who hate our way of life and have no intention or desire to merge into our society and will maintain their own societies within our countries will lead to future division and isolation.

Here in Canada, Muslim families are calling on having Muslim only schools and communities. My cousin in Calgary tells me a subdivision near hers has been completely bought out by Muslim families and the church was converted to a Mosque. This community will not allow non-Muslim families to move into it and have lobbied to the city council to have broadcasted "call to prayer" during Ramadhan......

It will only be a matter of time before native born radicalized factions gain power by being placed in governmental positions where they can effect the most change.

We saw a bit of a taste of this when our Governor General was a Haitian national......troops and millions upon millions of Canadian taxpayer money was sent to Haiti in support of their national interests.....this Governor General left and the huge support package for Haiti left with her.....and this will happen again and again over time....

I don't know what the attraction is for living in the UK. The one thing I am certain of is that living in the ME desert which can be brutally hot is not where I would choose to live. Escaping to the UK has its weather challenges to though... cold, damp and foggy ocean air on a regular basis isn't my cup of tea either.
It sorta makes me a hypocrite though because we get some nasty hot weather here in the summer and fall.
 
In todays society.....I'm really surprised that beauty pageants are still going on.....

Aren't the modern people of today seeing them as misogynist or sexist? I mean they see everything else as this so why not a competition that women are parading around like a 4H entry?

Hi. How about dog shows? We do have pronouns that (think) they are dogs. Do as they think the are dogs we should accept them as resal dogs. They should be able to enter dog shows. This is real so what do you all tjink about this????????
