That little test ride the set up guy does is a good thing. It saves your ass in case anything is wrong. The setup guys I've talked to could care less about the ride. After a year or two of their job, a bike is a bike. The thrill is gone and they're just doing their job to get the bike together and check it over. Most shops I've delt with concerning a bike bought unassembled is that they void the warranty on the spot. If something IS wrong, such as a bad engine or something, it's gonna be hard to prove it wasn't owner/builder error.
