TonyM995 Gen 3 Build

Wow. I did not realize that yet but on my notepad I do have sidestand listed. He’s also got a trans brake listed listed in the outputs. I’m not sure what that’s for.

I appreciate it but I’m committed and know I can do this. You’re making me want to post screenshots of his emails but it’s fine. I’ll get through it. That may turn this into a ‘not happy customer of Liguori’ thread. :)

He did suggest I get on Facebook for a Fueltech Motorcycle group but I deleted my fb account years ago.

People can see what good and bad support looks like. I’m just posting facts. Maybe I’ll join Facebook and that group.

In case you don't know

Engine stop/run
Sidestand
Starter input and output

Are all handled in suzuki ecu
Wiring into my ecu adapter may be of interest to save you a lot of headache
I don't have interest in an ecu adapter but I would be interested in paying for your support if I can't get this figured out. I love what you do and will be super proud of this when I'm finished. Working with David so far is like others I work with. My current boss asked me in the interview "What would you do if your teammate refused to help you?" and that just what it is with what I do. Terrible/no documentation and people who can't get poop done.

Here is the source code of an open source product I worked on at my last job. 21 results for 'brutal hack' and over 900 for just hack. This is actually cleaned up since I saw it a year ago. Anyone can download this on GitHub.

See that makes me want to promote the Maxx even more. I’m also seeing how bias I am but fast drag racing is a lot of tuning and I really like that part of the hobby.

Yes he’s got Throttle 1A and 1B then Pedal 1A and 1B is on the second harness.

Here are the inputs on the base map he sent me this morning. All he sent was an empty email with this map attached so I’m just going through it and figuring it out myself.

Not sure if you planned to do anything with the select button or cruise control button, might want to consider those, oh and the quick shifter load cell also.

Idk how much of a car drag racer you are, but their transbrake controller is for holding a car in R and 1st st the line to load the motor to build boost.
Yea I just don't know how that relates to a busa but I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually. Maybe that's to activate the burnout mode. Thanks Jordan! I'll bet that's what it is.
Seriously, I have lots of those...but wait a sec...STIHL? Is that a 2-cycle one-off?
hahahah YES it's a super rare 2 stroke version! No low ball offers- I know what I got!!!

Fueltech has a few in person trainings coming up so I decided to sign up. I'll be going to the training for learning to set a base map and also wiring. It's at the end of February. I'm still going to operate normally and try to get the bike running before then.

The HTP throttle body may only have one connector which is good vs the stock 4 connectors. This requires me to change the harness. The stock throttle body has two connectors and the throttle cable termination has two connectors, called pedal 1 & 2 in my inputs.

I also signed up for some online courses at EFI University. Intro to EFI and Advanced EFI Tuning. I'm also planning on their advanced turbo concepts course. This has already been helpful because they break down things to the level of detail that I enjoy learning about. I've already learned a lot on how to generate a base map, critical engine sensors, compensation tables, etc. These are product agnostic courses which is ideal to me.

They said "EFI allows you to tune the engine to run in a huge range of conditions, pressures, and temperatures." This is far more eloquent than I knew how to say it but that's what I have always known. I live at 6,000 ft elevation. I can't have my bike tuned on a dyno here and then bring it to Arkansas or Tx mile and expect it to run the same.

This guy talks about tuning and how he did it the same way I am. Yes it will take me longer than expected and just not be the easiest way. But I really enjoy it and will be able to help others by sharing what I'm learning. For me this is part of the hobby and I like it.

I haven’t done much this week but David did get into my Google doc and updated a bunch of stuff. That was very helpful and he’s been super responsive is email so he was probably super busy last week. I’d bet more people buy systems from him during November thanks any other time of the year.

Today I laid the A harness out and labeled each wire one at a time. I just looked at the wiring diagram from the base table provided and after the wire got a label, I put it behind me. Pretty easy stuff.

I’m going to order supplies from Pro Wire. They make it super easy to just pick a connector kit and they tell you what tools work for the connectors you have selected. I’ll try to order stuff over the weekend.

Fueltech wheelie control has two stages. He’s got a great illustration and had also never used a standalone prior to getting a Fueltech.

I went to Muay Thai kickboxing last night which beat my ass and I feel much better today! Kicked the Covid right out of me! I’ve tested negative for over two weeks btw, not trying to get others sick.

Picked up where I left off and realized two things. First I don’t have enough wire and second the cost effective stuff I bought at my local race car parts shop is really thick so it’s making for a bulky harness.

I’ll probably buy TXL wire but I’m just going to use what I have to build a mock harness. So the 12v coil wires are black but everything is labeled.

I’m doing concentric twisting and will figure out what to loom with what as I go. I’m not even sure what type of loom material I’m going to use yet.

I’m going to watch this again today but I’m not going to seal the harness or use Raychem dr25. I consider what I’m doing a club level harness and should be great for my application.

Rickey Gadson used Raychem dr25 on his pro street bike.

Tefzel is my wire of choice! I've done a couple harnesses with DR25 but wasn't really a fan. I prefer the Chinese finger cuff stuff, I can't remember what it's called. Don't have a lot of picks, most were done under a time crunch.

@SS4Luck I haven’t considered it and just figured I’d use a button to shift. As I get more familiar with the Fueltech I’ll see what options are there. Would you use an auto shift? i don’t even have a tank and am not sure if I’ll put an air compressor on.

@13B-RX3 Wow that’s pro level wiring right there!!! Looks like one heck of an SR20DET. Is that yours? I see a mid plate and dry sump, what car is that in and what kind of power? Those aren’t parts normally found on basic bolt on 240’s. :)

Thanks for the feedback on DR25. When I first started down this path I was thinking I’d do that but it seems harder to work with and just unnecessary for me. I’ll use the finger trap stuff. So far Pro Wire USA has everything needed so I’ll just place one order, soon hopefully.

That was a "customers car". I ended up wiring a buddies car and after people saw it they were beating down my door. Wasn't really something I wanted to do. The lack of desired and back surgery kinda put a halt to that. My car was the first car I wired. It wasn't very pretty, but it was a sound install. This is mine.

Wow that looks great to me! And your screen name tells me the power plant and chassis. Everything in the engine bay looks fantastic to me. I’ve never built a car but I’ve always loved cars too. Had some modified for me in the past but motorcycles have been part of my life for longer.

Lets see the entire car if you’re willing to post. I posted pictures of my face and kinda wish I wouldn’t have but oh well.

I’m not overly sure if you could use the auto shift for racing and disable it to ride on the street like a normal QS? I’m sure there’s ways to make it work like that, but I just think it would be nice to bobo around with friends then go full auto 60-180
