TonyM995 Gen 3 Build

I’m not overly sure if you could use the auto shift for racing and disable it to ride on the street like a normal QS? I’m sure there’s ways to make it work like that, but I just think it would be nice to bobo around with friends then go full auto 60-180
I’ll have to look. I know you can tune through the dash. There is a lot in the dash but I’ve hardly looked at it much.

@13B-RX3 that looked like a wild ride! I was excited just watching it! I like drag cars and probably watch/follow more car stuff than motorcycles.

That was an example of a horrible pass. Blew the tires off first three gears, the shift light never even went off on the 2-3 shift. 10 year old Goodyears didn't want to bite.

Another way to think of auto shift is “rpm based shifting” or rpm triggered shifting. Fueltech will do that easy.
I’m connecting the air shifter with an RPM activated output and currently it will only allow shifting above whatever rpm I select, 6k currently. That way if the button gets pressed on accident at idle or with the ignition on, it won’t shift.

I haven’t looked at the other settings but I’ll take a look next time I’m in there.

Haha I’m energy limited still and started at a new company with a new product to learn. That’s draining in itself but more so because there isn’t anyone to train me.

With this install I guess I was hoping for some training. Same with my new job. Instead I’m just figuring it all out which is fine but definitely not the fastest way.

I’m sorting out the B harness this week and got a new bag of connectors from David. I should be able to see if I have all of the connectors this week.

I still need to order harnessing supplies when I’m confident in what size sleeving I need. Also not exactly sure how much wire to buy or what crimp tool to buy that isn’t $400.

Here is my cart so far and now the wire shows on back order.

So 20awg is fine for sensors, 12awg for relays and 8 for the starter? I was gonna try and go 4 or 6 for the starter wiring but knew it was overkill

Sensors really can be 22 they pull almost 0 current. Honestly on starter etc I wouod have to measure what stock is, I dont have to deal with any of that doing plug and play as its all there already

Those are $325 strippers! I don’t recall why I put 18g wire but I’ll switch it to 22gauge. Thanks for that!!

What other way can I strip the wire?

I wasn’t kidding when I said I knew nothing about wiring or electricity when I started this.

I am away from home so I can't show you.

My preferred method is to roll the wire over a utility razor blade. Don't slide it, you're just trying to score the jacket and don't want to cut all the way to the conductor. Then just bend the wire at the score line and the jacket will break loose. Then just pull the jacket off the end of the wire. Once you get the hang of it, it's foolproof! Think of it like scoring glass and breaking it.

The strippers that Greg posted do work, so long as they have the proper dies installed. We used the exact same set in aviation, and they even had to be calibrated yearly.

no these were like $50 is all. But they are very nice IMO

I went to Muay Thai kickboxing last night which beat my ass and I feel much better today! Kicked the Covid right out of me! I’ve tested negative for over two weeks btw, not trying to get others sick.

Picked up where I left off and realized two things. First I don’t have enough wire and second the cost effective stuff I bought at my local race car parts shop is really thick so it’s making for a bulky harness.

I’ll probably buy TXL wire but I’m just going to use what I have to build a mock harness. So the 12v coil wires are black but everything is labeled.

I’m doing concentric twisting and will figure out what to loom with what as I go. I’m not even sure what type of loom material I’m going to use yet.

Cool, I wish there was Muay tai near me.
Anything good never lasts, like Kravmaga.
All we have now is karate, not the good real fighting karate I took years ago either, but the hi-ya display where granny can get a black belt, lol.
But, it's probably for the best, I'm too old and it hurts too much the next day...and the next day.
I'll stick to my weights, heavy bag, and speed bag...they kick my azz enough anymore
lol

Any movement or exercise is good. I can’t wait for warm weather to be out walking and hiking more again. Muay Thai has put muscle on me that wasn’t there when I was just doing cycling and Brazilian Jiu jitsu. So that’s bad for going fast. Hopefully I can lose some weight by summer. Tony Wintertits right now
