I’ve hardly touched it but have made some progress. That guy isn’t very good at troubleshooting btw.

Why don’t you use your real name for anything? It’s funny to see the spectrum of that vs guys like Michael who put their full name.

I’ve thought maybe I shouldn’t have posted pictures of myself on here but I don’t have anything to hide.
 
Wiring is looking good
Thanks I bought tesa tape which will help it look finished. Also the 90* boots don’t fit directly on the ecu connector. They need an adapter and I’ll probably buy them even though I don’t need them. They will look nice.

This tefzel wire is so thin that the insulation part of these terminals don’t really grab correctly. They sent me wrong terminals so I’m practicing with them.

The silver wire I took out of the Fueltech harness. You can see how nice it’s crimped.

Also my $12 Klein strippers work perfect. The owner of Pro Wire said they would work and they do!

I wish I could just truly start from scratch and have closed barrel connectors for everything. A kit like this seems pretty reasonable for crimpers. I need an open barrel crimper still.

Anyone have particular crimpers for tefzel wire and what connectors do you use? Japanese bike but a lot of the add on connectors are German. ‍

I’ve now completed the EFI University Advanced Tuning Concepts course. Good stuff in there and I’ll buy their advanced turbo tuning course next.

At the end of February I’m going to Fueltech for a 5 day training. The first 3 days are how to generate a base table and the last 2 are how to wire from scratch.

Zero percent chance of failure here, that I can promise you.

I dont have many super expensive ones, here is my collection currently.

The hozan p706 ive had for 15 years and at one-time used for alnost all open barrel stuff.

The gen3 has a lot of pretty narrow terminal stuff that the red crimper in the second pic will do pretty well, it does the super seal on the fueltech main connectors pretty well also. The second pic will get you by on a fair bit of stuff and wont break the bank.

Thanks Greg @smithabusa! I had my eye on the Hozan P-707 but the one you have, P-706 looks to be a better fit because it focuses on the smaller connectors.

The blue/red are also sold by Sargent for double the price but I’ll go with the economy ones at Bellanger for now. The round holes for the insulation is what I’m looking for and these have it. :)

ive been going to buy a 707 for the last few years just to have as i like the 706 so much, just pretty frugal sometimes LOL
 
I got the shipment of extra tools and supplies. The rubber boot adapters are billet aluminum and super nice! I like how it looks and just need to add the 4 grey wires from the Spark Pro to the A harness and put a connector in between. Hopefully I can spend some time on it this weekend.

You can see the plugs in the empty spots. There are 4 empty but you can only see one of them, the Spark Pro will use those so everything will be sealed.

I have a folding snapon knife from Kershaw with a blade shaped that way. When I was a mobile electronics installer for circuit city I never left home without it.
 
Yeah my cousin got me into knives so I always have them around but I’m most excited about kitchen knives and sharpen them all by hand myself. I’ve got a white carbon steel 64 HRC that is wicked sharp.

 
In my infinite wisdom I apparently removed the 4 pin connectors from my order hahaha so I’ll wait and see what else I need before ordering them and may use two, 2 pin connectors for the Spark Pro ignition box but that’s also likely to drive me nuts.

I got these pictures from Liguori because I’m trying to figure out how to terminate wires in the relay and have it look good.

It’s funny the first pic has a Raychem sealed harness but no boots. My harness is the opposite, not sealed but with boots. The factory uses boots at the dash and their harness isn’t sealed.

I’m putting my relay in the back of the bike and will have longer wires so if or when I re do the entire thing I’ll be able to move things to the front rack area and add/remove what I want.
 
I got a bit done today. The green wire from the Spark Pro harness has very thick insulation so it makes the rubber grommets in the connector hard to put in. I wish I had made my own harness instead of using theirs but the A and B harness have quality wire so no complaints there.

I’m creating an install document that will hopefully help anyone else who wants to wire their own bike from scratch. I’ve created a wiring diagram for the start button and dash and will probably do more with the Google app that I did it in.

I didn’t buy shrink junctions and already have to put a grey wire back in the A harness to start with the dash so the harness tape will allow me to pull things apart if necessary.

As I go my skills will continue to improve.

The Hozan crimpers are great and I’m getting better with each crimp! It’s not perfect and I figure I’m likely to change some stuff in the future.

Here is a sneak peek at the installation document I’m going to create and share. It should help anyone trying to wrap their heads around wiring a standalone regardless of brand the ecu is. That stock fuse was modified thanks to my cat walking across the keyboard hahaha

I spent the entire week at Fueltech for their 5 day course and wish it wasn’t over.

It made me feel the EFI University courses are well worth the money and by doing those ahead of time it put me at the front of the class in terms of my ability to consume what they were teaching.

Anderson, the founder of FT, is an electrical engineer and at lunch one day I got to sit with him and asked how he ended up in Georgia. Proline Racing engines wasn’t happy with the ecu they were all using (Big Stuff) because there were no updates coming. They started working together to give Proline what they wanted from a drag racing ecu.

They now share a driveway with Proline and moved there to collaborate more closely with them. I could go on why I absolutely love this company and I believe they are hands down the best.

The R33 skyline was setup for us to put a base tune and go through the process of tuning a car from scratch.

This was a jet ski that’s supercharged from the factory and they added a turbo so it was supercharged and turbo making 1,000 hp. It broke the factory supercharger so they were pulling it apart to upgrade/fix the supercharger.
