Two members have contracted the swine flu....

That along w/ Mucinex DM and drinking as much liquids as humanly possible. Advil 800's I had on hand have been life savers!

The message I want to get across is that....for all those members that chimed in a few weeks ago in this thread https://www.hayabusa.org/forum/random-thoughts/117287-should-i-get-swine-flu-shot-h1n1.html and said they don't want to get the vaccination and they'll take "their chances". That they are in great shape and never get sick. (Well I believe Zack is in his late 20's and I'm in my early 30's and as far as I know we both are normally very healthy.)
I would ask that you SERIOUSLY RECONSIDER. This strain is no joke and is much more easily contractible.
If you choose not to get the vaccine when it comes out, well that's on you. But if you get it....trust me...you'll be wishing you had done otherwise.

Do you actually know that you have the swine flu? How do you know its not the common flu, or the flu at all for that matter. Have you been tested to confirm this. I just know that many people self diagnose themselves incorrectly.

To be a confirmed case of H1N1 flu, a blood test has to meet two standards. First, the blood test must show presence of influenza A, and second, the blood test must be sent to the CDC (Center for Disease Control) to confirm whether it is swine flu.

With the epidemic on the rise, many hospitals now have the ability to do the 2nd test on the spot. With results in less then 12hrs. I'll trust their diagnosis.

More people are killed every year by drunk drivers. Can I get a vaccination for that too?

Hope you guys get feeling better soon. I think just reading all this about the symptoms and what not are beginning to make me feel sick. Am I having shortness of breath? I think I may have a temperature...I've gotta go now.

I am not one hundred percent sure but i have been told by an er physician that the cdc is no longer accepting blood to test. also you could have 49percent confirmation for swine flu and it would be considered negative. but that doesn't mean you don't have the swine flu. a lil scary but take matters into your own hands and try 2 live healthy and if you want the vaccination and it become availiable in your area go 4 it but don't think your invinsible

Just over a week ago i was rolling onto US 129 listening to local talk show on radio and heard the several schools in the area where already closing because of 40+%of students and staff had the flu.. They where saying it was too earily in the year and the numbers had never been seen before. When traveling it was on my mind. Kinda glad you guys did not bring it to the bash.... Stay strong guys ,, sounds like you are past the worst of it.:thumbsup:
 
This stuff sucks,

I took a turn for the worse last night, I was trying to keep no fever for 24 hours top have a chance to get back to work by tomorow and last night after dinner I felt worse and checked and sure enough back up to 100.6. So back on the Tylenol and Advil.

Was a rough nite of coughing and weezing.
