VA fall ride?

What to do, what to do...the family rides up to the Gotham Bike show in NYC that weekend.  It is being held on the USS Intrepid.  The show was ok last year, but the ride was sweet.  They all ride on the dark side...even a HD, if you catch my drift.  I have to succumb to the forces of the dark side when around them and ride my crui..., I can't even say it here.  I'll say '87 Suzuki Intruder VS700.  Hey, at least it's a Zuk, right?  I think I am going to forego NYC for the second time this year and ride with some new friends I have found.  Ronin...what is this thing up in Glen Burnie?  What time?
Welcome DR! We're glad to have you. I'm in Stafford, where are you?

Postal.

When its all said and done we'll bring the scotch

OK dammit.....what is it going to take for us to DO THIS???  That is a pretty bitchin' route that Postal has come up with.  By the way, SageRonin, Postal, BusaBad, & UUBusa, you guys are right in my area.  I are in Manassas.  We should hook up ad RIDE!  BTW, VaBusa, you better figure a way to be on this ride too.  READ THE POSTS WOMAN!!!  It just would not be the same without you!  Hurry up & decide on a date and LET'S RIDE!!!
I think it will be a pretty fun route. It's not the "Dragon's Tail" or anything like that, but it will be fun for riders of lower to intermediate riding skills. The twisties through the mountains are pretty fun. I'll put out a formal announcement later on, but for now we know we will be meeting on Rt 17 at about 8:30 AM. We'll try to leave at 9:00 AM. Meeting place TBD.
Hey Tom ... how about we meet at that Holiday Inn there on Rt 17 ... it's easy and right off of I-95 ? I plan on getting a room there for the 8th and 9th ... what do you think ??
Sounds great! That is our OFFICIAL starting place...

<marquee>HOLIDAY INN, RT. 17 (exit 133) and I-95, 8:30 AM, OCTOBER 9th, 2004...</marquee>

We'll leave there around 9:00 AM.

Thanks Postal! I are in Manassas. We will probably meet on this ride in Oct. I have a couple of other Busa guys that might be accompanying me...bodyguards. It's ok though, they are as gentle as rabid pitbulls. j/k!, but these 2 might be going with me.:;):

Welcome Dr.J.!!!!!! Bring as many friends as you can (on MCs of course). See you there!

Be safe....

Postal.

You know, it would be pretty cool if one of us had a cager friend or two who could drive along with us and video tape. I can have the tape professionally edited through a relative. Let me know if there are any GOOD video cagers willing to do this. Nothing like getting pictures and movies of a bunch of Posers.... None of you though!

biggrin.gif

Poser here... I can provide onboard video. I'll drop to a 16 front sprocket so it looks like we're really flying...haahaahaa

I'm attempting to hammer out plans with the hubby as I type...hopefully we'll just commit to it and if something changes with my move at work, too bad for work!

Oh no!! I have to work...I can't go...poor me!!! Then when someone else takes the reigns, 'screw work...I'm goin'!" OK little Busa girl, we see how it is.
Nah...just jerking your chain a little. Glad that you are going to make it out for the fun...

Best I can tell, we're in...even mentioned it to my Dad so he might tag along too.  And, I posted the ride info/link to h.org on a sport bike board (Cycle Forums) for the VA riders...

...one guy didn't sound too thrilled about Rt. 211, so I'm trying to get some details from him in case it's just an awful road to travel...anyway, maybe we'll make some new friends...

Sounds great, and thanks for putting it on Cycleforums. I would be interested to hear about Rt 211. I drove it and it was pretty good. Aside from the police every mile, pot holes every 100', road work around every corner, and dead dear in every lane, I can't see what the problem is....
tounge.gif

Yes, I am kidding. It looked like a good ride for anyone. There were lots of bikes out that day. We drove from I-81 to I-66 via Rt 211. It was nice. The twisties in the mountains were pretty nice too. I'm curious...

Not at all Dr. J...my loyalty to work has far exceeded what I see others doing around here (in my office)...I've worked holidays, spent a New Year's Eve wrapping up something by deadline, put in weekends...as many do...

This is a case of me just being tired of feeling used...I've asked repeatedly for a date for the move, and since my boss doesn't want to offer one up, I've got a life and I'm moving on...don't worry, if he reads this, he'll know I would say it to his face without hesitation...
