Weather Alarmists

Climate change or global warming as it used to be called is an unproven hypothesis. Lots to unpack on this huge topic so lets keep it short and simple.

Fact: We are currently still in the last ice age and have not entered the interglacial period (you know a period without glaciers)

Fact: During Roman times it was so much warmer that they grew grapes in England, not so much today.

Fact: Most climate models don't include clouds / water vapor, the single biggest greenhouse gas by a huge margin.

Fact: The vast majority of the earth does not have weather/temperature stations and there are very few in the oceans so we are working with an incomplete data set at best and a completely false one at worst.

Climate change may be real but our limited resources are better used elsewhere. I don't know maybe getting all the plastic out of the oceans, or feeding and educating the worlds children
I find it interesting the middle east use to be very fertile and green yet natural climate change made it to what it is today.

I wish you were right and I could agree with you.
The sad thing is once beyond a certain level, it is no longer reversible.
BTW, I have a negative footprint around 20 tons per year of CO2. No rocket science, it can be calculated using empirical lab results and simple math.

Who was tracking data before 1900? And how did they do that?

Even data tracking today is flawed and not accurate...I certainly can't see who and how someone was tracking data according to the provided graph...

LOL, you are not into physics or chemical engineering are you? The tracking back thousands of years is pretty accurate. Do some research, rather than me explaining it all here.

They can accurately determine atmospheric CO2 levels well before that graph’s starting point.

Here is a tip though, if you don’t know what a compound is, or a proton, or a neutron, then don’t worry about it, just trust me,

Nope, not an egg head....and don't believe in the theories most of them concoct....

I do know the earth have been evolving for millions of years and man has only been industrially active for a little over 100yrs....I say this as mankind has been accused of creating this climate change.

I do however believe we are a destructive species and I've seen lots of this destruction first hand, the pollution and trash strewn around the world is staggering...

Our nations are being held to a high standard yet globally we other nations have atrocious standards yet nothing is done..

We've created NATO, the UN and other organizations to work together, why not a global pollution/trash organization?

I took chemistry and physics in school and did very well in those classes....and the SOF world trained me pretty thoroughly..

As do I. The climate is always changing and always will be. The only question that needs to be asked is, "Should we spend our resources on trying to change a system that is so complex that we don't really understand it?"

In the past both the CO2 levels and temp were drastically higher than they are today and life worked out just fine.

From your last paragraph you should then know that atmospheric levels of CO2 data is reliably available up to 800,000 years ago. Then why the argument and question in your previous post?

My reply to the initial post in this thread is simple. The human race will either remain ignorant and destroy itself in favor of Mother Nature winning. Or, the human race will be smart enough to save itself.

I believe given enough time and enough luck to avert a global catastrophe, we'll control nature. We'll create life and defeat death too. It all can be reduced to science and I think it will happen one day. We'll control our own evolution and the evolution of everything we can reach unless there's someone out there watching us who's smarter and who doesn't want us to.

I doubt it, we are so fragile on this planet like every other creature. One meteorite, one massive volcanic eruption, one ice age and the vast majority if not all of us are toast, we've had multiple mass extinction events one was guess to have killed 99% of life on earth.

yes, that was the Noah's Flood event, take a look at Velikovsky’s work on the catastrophes that have changed the planet many times over the ages... he explains the Earth passed thru the tail of the comet Venus for 40 days and nights and was inundated with water and hydro carbons.
Very informative and conclusive reading..

Yeah, that's why it will take a little luck. I'd say if our luck holds out for another 500 years, we'll have it under control. We've made it at least 300,000 years now and our non-homosapien ancestors were around a lot farther back than that. What are the chances nature will wipe us out in 500 or a thousand years or even 2 thousand years? I think we'll make it and being human will be very different than it is today.

...unless, there's someone smarter out there watching who doesn't want us to. ;)
When it comes to that, I respect everyone else’s beliefs, opinions and religions.

There is a lot I do not know and will never know, but what I do know is this. Life in any form we are familiar with cannot travel at the speed of light. And if it could, it would take millions of earth years to reach us from the nearest possible place in the infinite universe.

Here on earth the Soviet Union is no more, however China has just launched their own astronauts into space, to visit their own space station. Perhaps the human race will at some point take measures to drastically reduce over population, by whatever cruel means they have at their disposal.

I also know that we just experienced a 178 million cases of the Corona virus with close to 4 million deaths across the globe. We know it came from China and some believe it was created in a lab.

LOL

Just saying, but they are still growing grapes in England and have done so for ages. The only change is that Great Britain use to grow grapes across the world, while now they only do it in England.

I believe in extraterrestrial life...

There have been renditions of the pyramid found all over the globe built with stone that I don't believe was cut and moved by the people of the time. Scientists have found burn marks on ancient stone as if it was cut by a laser-a technology we don't possess in our modern time. Why were the Nazca lines made and for whom to see? There are many more such geoglyphs all over the world only visible from the air...did ancient people possess air travel?

We know of collapsed civilizations like the Inca, the Mayans, ancient Egypt (Egypt as a country exists but is a shell of what it once was) who were advanced (for their day) and all deserted their cities and vanished.....

Hi. Well if water vapor is the biggest greenhouse gas, then we should get the liberals like AOC to start working to JUST ban it. I work in a pour city and the trash all over the streets is very bad. This is kind of funny in the projects and the run down parts of the city is where I find all the money on the ground. I found over $25.00 in 1 day. In the better parts I never even find a penny also there is not to much trash on the ground. I hope we can all get together and help clean up the earth. The earth's climate has changed many times, so why do they think that we are changing it now? Or are we speeding it up [a lot or just a little????????????????????????/

Some of my definitions:
I think = my gut feel, but very possible that I may be wrong,

I believe = I am pretty sure, but willing to change my opinion, as there is still a chance I may be wrong.

I know = I am 100% sure, everything is supported by hard facts and can be proven by science.

So in response to your post above, I believe in extraterrestrial life the way we understand life, but I know that humans have never truly experienced it, or have the senses to physically recognize it and it has never been present on earth other than distant bacteria during the formation of the planet billions of years ago.
