What Did You Do To Your Busa, Today?

When we going riding together?
Soon. I have a few days of minor adjustments. I have an 18 tooth front sprocket on right now as once I tune it a bit, and get it running right, I plan on a couple top speed runs. Then I will drop back down to a 17 tooth. I will definately make a run down there as I want Frank to tune it correctly on his dyno. When I make those plans, you will be included.

From the “I think I’m Screwed” thread, I learned that I had installed the washers on the outside of the frame in error, so corrected that issue and mounted them between the frame and cushion lever and properly torqued.

I also installed the Buell peg kit I purchased a couple weeks ago from @GSX1300R-T and adjusted the brake and shift levers.

Wish I would've known you were looking to get a set. Would’ve told you to wait a bit, until I got my aftermarket rearsets on and took off the buell pegs. Only thing is, my rearsets and buell pegs were powder coated black years ago.

If I would have done a little more research I would have gladly got those over the knight design. Might just have to get a set of those and sell the knights. How much of a drop are those? Same as the knights 1"?

Yep, 1” drop. @GSX1300R-T kit includes the pegs, sleeves, springs, C clips and directions including how to adjust the shift/brake levers and brake light activator. $99 including shipping.

Lol, that’s just my luck with my timing on your changes. Had my dash panels painted right before you made your color change too. Black rearsets and pegs would have looked nice!

Forgot about the dash panels. Lol! I’ll have to start informing you of upgrades ahead of time, in case you are interested. Lol

Angels Crest Hwy?

Nice! Almost, about 10 crow-flown miles E of that famous twister. Glendora Ridge Road begins in Mt Baldy and becomes Glendora Mountain Road (GMR) as you travel west then south, paralleling the San Gabriel reservoir before arriving in the city of Glendora. I think I caught 4th gear for a grand total of perhaps 10 seconds during the run, the rest of the time predom in 1st & 2nd. Rode right into that bank of fog in the pic, spent half an hour soaking in it, wishing I'd wiped down the visor with Rain-X. Can't wait to do it again.

Just for the sake of trivia, GMR connects with East Fork Rd which connects to San Gabriel Canyon Road which does, indeed hook up with the Angeles Crest Hwy.

Hi, my name's John, and I'm a canyon addict.

I rode around that area with s group two years ago. Not sure all the roads we hit. Started in Lebec, stayed the night somewhere along Angeles Crest, likely some roads you mentioned and the last day in the Palomar mountains. Definitely some great riding in the region.

Not sure i would make that move the Buells work but are very thin, gave mine away.

I want to play.

In lieu of being able to buy the correct springs for suspension and get it setup for my weight, should I crank the compression and rebound etc or what can I even do to get "close" so to speak?

That would be unwise. You will simply have a fork that is already trying not to move when it hits a bump. Then because of all the spring preload you will need one heck of a bump to get them to move at all
All other bumps of lesser impact will lift the front like a solid stick. Try to find balance between the from and back so your bike rides evenly and responds similarly front to back until you can get new springs in the front at least. The Rear seems to have more spring strength than I expected but the progressive nature of the springs gets to the stiff part very quickly from where I put it for better balance
There are differences in quality, fit and finish in fork springs. That is one of the reasons Ohlins are expensive. They are ground to be flat at the ends of the coils to prevent the spring from trying to escape the landing and move to one side.
If your rear is too soft but your front is much to soft I would suggest somewhere so that the preload uses up maybe a third of the travel max. the front must move both up and down IF you crank up the preload to the max you must do something similar to the rebound \
This will not end well You will need a massive bump to get the forks to work and still not really have enough spring. Plus the tyre will not return to the pavement quick enough because the fork is try push a lot of oil through a VERY tiny hole so the tyre stays off of the pavement and you lose traction.
You may notice this if the bike seems to "skitter" across the pavement in a corner

I have the Knights Design pegs and they work for me being a big guy with a size 14 shoe my feet feel well planted they are thick and wide I can stand up on them no problem or worry about them braking or snapping my most favorite mod next to my Saddlemen seat they are expensive and comfortable no more of my feet getting numb or knee hurting

Got a Sunday delivery , a TWM remote span adjuster for the RCS Brembo pump . Used in racing for 'on the run adjustment' to counter brake fade with extra lever travel . Of course , not needed by me for critical race adjustment , but another thing to play with on L2 !!
