What Did You Do To Your Busa, Today?

Installed the new T-Rex sliders and Suzuki carbon mirror covers...oh yeah, added a tender pigtail under the seat. Then I decided to give the new girl a break and dust the cobwebs off the MT.

Why not run the 2->1 harness and just run 1 O2 sensor?
the factory ecu is set up to run 2 sensors getting 2 separate readings. if u look at the factory header, 1 sensor reads cylinders 1-2 and the other 3-4. im going to try to mimic that set up. its not hard to add a 2nd bung. a weld in bung cost $6 and the 18mm to 12mm reducer was $8. ive just been waiting on frame sliders to come in so i can pull the fairings off once for this set of mods.

the design seems good and i like the look of the puck. looks like its an easy instal too. the anodized coating is not good imo and my guess is it will prob fade into a brown gold in no time like their black spools it got on my gen 2. hard to tell in photo but coating doesnt appear even either. most of the brackets will be behind the fairings so no big deal but the bar that pokes out the fairing vent will be exposed to the sun.

I didn't care for the idea when I seen the jumper harness being sold. I figured they should be getting different readings and tricking them to read off one would not be a good thing and possibly cause issues down the road. Definitely like your idea of putting in the work and doing it right:thumbsup:

Changed the brake and clutch fluid, engine oil and filter and checked the specs on my chain and found out it was stretched (close to 18k miles and was the original chain) passed the manual’s recommended measurements, so I ordered replacement chain and sprockets. I figured it wouldn’t be a horrible job, but the rear axle nut had other plans. It loosened to the halfway point and seized there. After a couple of hours, a few choice words, a breaker bar and 2 cutting wheels, I ended it up breaking the aluminum block on the clutch side when I put all my weight on the breaker bar and cutting a groove on the nut to break it didn’t work either. Had to cut through the nut and axle to get it off. Have a replacement from eBay coming and will put everything back together when it arrives. To say I was furious is an understatement. Maybe I shouldn’t be working on my bike after working nightshift and only getting 3 hrs of sleep.

Wow. Do you think the nut was crossthreaded?

I’d didn’t feel like coming off. I got several turns out of it before it started getting really hard. It had me stumped.
Hey Miguel.. who torqued that axle nut up last time?
If it was over torqued last time, it could be that the thread was stretched and damaged causing the problem you just had with it.
Just a thought.
Hope you get it all sorted soon mate.

Can't be sure but from the threads that are shown right above the break it looks like it had either been cross threaded or possibly gotten over torqued and stretched the threads. Definitely a bad idea to start working on it with that little amount of sleep, I'm having to teach my buddy that there's times you have to walk away when things aren't going right or your just gonna end up with worse issues and since he's my business partner in the shop we're starting can't afford to have customers stuff get damaged. At least you have another bike to ride while that one's down and it'll be good to go when you get done.

We were typing at the same time:lol:. Kind of looks like they may have been stretched at some point from what I could see.
