What did you do to your Gen 3 today?

Here is my CF

+1
I've done alot of window tint and decals, and tried vinyl wrapping when my friend did his gas tank...and those gages look like they could be a real pain to do.
But, they turned out great!

Best advice, use expensive vinyl to wrap. While these looked simple enough to wrap and planned to wrap them with regular decal vinyl, thought it was doable, but I realized it wasn't going to work out. I tried a piece of expensive vinyl which is way more pliable, even thinner and better adhesive. Went pretty smooth, even without easily being able to see up close and shaky hands, lol.

Finally did my moto-cnc risers today
I hope they’re worth it as they were a really fiddly job.
"... a really fiddly job."

Did you find it difficult to remove the stock riser bolts? Mine are so tight, it feels like the bolt heads might snap off. What issues did you have? TIA

Mine were a PITA. Tons of thread lock had to use a breaker bar to get em off…. When I got them off the tread lock was almost up the entire bolt. Best advice I can give is to either remove the plastics to prevent scratching or tape them and put down micro fiber clothes during the process.

used SOLIDWORKS to CAD my own fender eliminator. Printed it on my X1 carbon with PLA-CF. I like the results and now I’m in the process of designing and incorporating LEDs for plate illumination. Was able to reuse the mounting bracket from the stock fender but I have full range of motion to position the plate at any degree.
Most expensive parts are the stainless 6mm bolts…. $4.00 in hardware and roughly $.80 in plastic. I expect the LEDs to increase this by a few more $’s but I don’t think it will cost more than $10 in total if I reuse the factory wiring harness.

Basic hinge design with recessed bolts. The green is a prototype in regular PLA that failed when infill was set to 15%. I have strengthen areas around the bolt as well…. All in all it was a fun exercise. Can’t wait to start making molds for forged carbon parts.

Before I catch any flack about using PLA, I understand the limitations of this material and this was for prototyping purposes only.

Cheers

been wondering how a marvin shaw shock compares :)
The 14" shaw hillshooter on my raptor is only 3 lbs

No way I wanna ride it on the street though lol. Penske has an air spring drag shock that is lighter than this one but I like being able to tune my setup on the go.
