What did you do to your other motorcycle today ?

That is one hell of a cool bike with the nice black frame. Your dad had a good taste. Well done that is stays in the family.
I know a guy who’s got the SP version and is 76 of age… How cool is that… I sign for that.
Good luck with it.
Thanks very much! Well...my dad and I have always had a bit of a strained relationship. He is a hard man! We are very different and there are things about my youth that I don't like to be reminded of. But he is my father and no matter what kind of a*** he can often be, you only have one father and respect is part of it! And without him, I probably would never have gotten into motorcycling.

Sometimes you have to let the old things rest! It's important to me that this bike stays in the family, it's a family member. :) My father is 68 now, I've always had great respect for the fact that he doesn't ride like other older bikers, naked bikes or even something abysmal ugly like a BMW GS. The bike has hardly been moved in the last 2 years, so despite the great condition, I have to redo a few things first. Battery, oil, brake fluid and really clean, the dust has already formed quite a few nests. ;)

Yesterday I went a little way so that she learns to move again. My goodness.....192 hp at 196 kilos...you don't just notice that when maneuvering, something handy, something agile....and the engine marches forward so much that I could keep up with my standard Busa EU5 ....I doubt it.

Put this back together

Put it back in here

Am currently doing all the baseline maintenance. Bike had been sitting for years. An air filter change requires a crazy amount of disassembly of the bike. They proclaim a Goldwing to be super reliable. Hope so because not much is easy to do besides changing of fluids.

New tires, brakes, fluids. Lube all pivots.

I got the fog lights working. And the emergency flashers. Sticky switches.

Upgraded the stereo speakers.

Adding Bluetooth. And other electrical upgrades.

Upgrading the final drive with a taller gears. That will be a project.

Looking at a Russell Daylong. But they prefer to have you come to them. So that's a bummer.

Oh yeah. And I'm going Darkside. I consider that an upgrade.

This round of mods included new tires, Dunlop Q3+ and Q4(mismatched saved over $100, and tires work fine together).
New Ebc HH 'Extreme Pro' front pads.
New WorldWide Ceramic wheel bearings, transmission bearing, and output shaft bearing.
Titanium clutch basket nut and front sprocket nut.
Ek 3D 520mm conversion with aluminum rear sprocket(over 2 lbs lighter).
CRG real carbon fiber levers.
New NGK sparkplugs(stock iridium).
Rizoma mirrors(not on in picture, or great to see out of).
New Moto-Composites real carbon fiber front fender(over 1 lb lighter).
Have a new oem clutch, but factory 9700 mile clutch is like new.
I'll get the fairings and bar-ends on too.
Radiator guard being ordered.
Now, did the parts make a difference?
Well, Moore Mafia claims 10whp on the dyno for the ceramic transmission and wheel bearings(for whatever that's worth, we know dyno's and conditions vary).
And, over 2 lbs of rotating mass out of the driveline.
I'll make a bold claim and say that if there was controlled testing, maybe a tenth or two in the quarter.
The test ride says the bike is still Very fast, lol.
As for the 'Extreme-Pro' front pads, oh my...they are awesome...as expected.
I've used them on other bikes, but this is the first ABS I've put them on...wow.
I put ss lines on over a year and a half ago, and as expected the lever felt better, but these pads...
The ABS on this bike Now feels amazing.
With the TC off(6 levels) the brakes feel like an excellent non-ABS model, the front and rear brakes truly feel sperate, even though the ABS links them.
The rear trail-brakes nicely...and the front...
I can grab the front brake, full force(took a leap of faith to do it, lol) and the computers are doing Everything in their power to prevent a stoppie(which I can do if I pull the ABS fuse).
I can feel the rear wheel as if it's barely touching the ground, getting squirrely, and my stomach in my throat as the stopping force is much greater.
So much so that it compressed the forks another half inch(measuring the zipties on the fork legs).
These things Most Definately stop you shorter And sooner.
And when some idiot pulls out in front of you, Every little bit counts.
Well worth the money.
I'm going to start using the Motool Slacker sag tool soon now too, and see if I can dial the suspension in some more, but it is very good where I currently have it.
Now, back to riding, and planning the next round of mods.
Lighter rotors(and more new pads)
Carbon fiber wheels.
Possible cams swap over winter.
More tiatnium, including axles.

damn, how can i post that i gave up my first attemped to start polishing stuff due to missing tools and just cleaned of the smashed flies....with everything that sixpack just did....but oke, i cleaned my bike, and all the flies and smuch is gone.

Good luck on the polishing.
It's polish, ride, polish ride, repeat.
Been there, done that.
Congrats, everyone should suffer the effort to make something look so good.
lol
I would do a chrome wheel and swingarm swap, and chrome frame covers if I wanted that look again...you'll see...good luck

I bought this 1994 zx7 about 25 years ago.
All stock...only the guy was nice enough to have started polishing the frame...lol
So, I finished it, then I tried the wheels, and they were getting really good looking...and then I just gave up and starting swapping out to chrome parts...but the frame got cloudy after Every ride(knees rubbed it), and polish can be very hard to clear or seal.
Run!
lol

It looks like you have done a great job :beerchug:I would say, if some idiot pulls up in front of you, it throws you definitely over the bike.

I know I for one was pretty darned impressed by all the work @sixpack577 has done on that bike...

He has some serious skills...

I can't wait to see what the elder Gixxer morphs into...
