What did you do to your other motorcycle today ?

I looked at both for the Bumblebee....the actual CF was crazy.....crazy priced...

I could have got ABS CF hydro dipped for about 1/3 the costs...I would have to get actual CF inlets for the nose fairing as they don't make those in faux-CF.

The rear CF signal pods I got were around $250.....that opened my eyes to just how much it costs to go CF...

I could go all ABS faux CF but there'd be no weight savings...
Oh yeah, I love the look of real cf...but yeah, crazy expensive.
Apparently you can get the hydrodip in a matte finish too, which would give it a more realistic look.
I just hate to think of having real cf...then dummy me drops the bike...wouldn't be the 10th time...
I was pushing the gsxr out into the driveway last summer(white factory fairings) next thing I know I have all my weight on the left peg and bar...slow motion riding it to the ground.
My foot slipped in the gravel, and no traction to save it, I just jumped on and tried to slow the fall.
Scratched a small lower panel.
I told him in shame...he laughed.
I have good friends.

There is a GSXR1000R Ryuyo out of Japan that is basically carbon fibre and has 212hp.Ryuyo is a town which has on and off road facilities in which most Suzuki’s are developed.

Basically a top spec GSXR and limited to 20 units only.

King of the GSXR’s.
Alright!
There it is!
Thank you sir for explaining that.
He's going to weigh it on the truck scales where his cousin works when it warms up. With a full M4 and lithium battery we're guessing 430 lbs wet.
All I can say is that this one has 187whp(for the moment) and it's a bad mo**** ******!!!
It has a first gear like no other gsxr I ever rode(and I've been on multiple bikes of ever generation)
The flashed gen3 better pull like this thing does...

Even flashed the Hayabusa will be well over a hundred pounds more and not a whole lot more power (a lot more torque though)

It will be hard to top that Gixxer....

Great to know....

Education is king.

He should chuck in a set of Yoshimura cams, pistons, wiring harness and the ecu then the fun really begins.

Chris Moore told him he can get him over 200whp on an E85 tune(he dyno tuned it through the ecu) if he adds a Bazazz, and it can distingquish between the fuels and compensate(so if you can't get more E85, 93 will be ok, the ecu piggyback will adjust it in real time).
I told him to ask about cams, I figured there had to be 10-15whp there.
Pistons would be no problem either.
I can do the build, and CM can do the tuning.

Make your own Ryuko GSXR......

Stage 1 cams only offer a couple of hp but the Stage 2,ported head and pistons will net a decent increase all throughout the range.

I also purchased a Motec system but being loyal, kept everything Yoshimura spec.

Yep
But I think the old gsxr vs Busa scenario will hold true...the gsxr can take it in the 1/4 mile or so, but about the 150-160mph mark, aerodynamics and torque show their power...and the Busa starts walking off.
Either way, it's the old apples to oranges barstool racing.
He told me he was glad the new Busa fit me, as I didn't need the same bike as him, we need the variety, and he's right, we've always swapped bikes around, it's like we own what all our close friends have.
I want to ride the Busa now.
Then at the gas pumps, hey, gimee that gixxer...ok.

That's what the former owner of Bumblebee told me....the liter bikes would get the jump on him and then he'd out run them on the big end. He said it surprised quite a few of them as they thought they could easily outgun the Busa.

He went on to an S1KRR and said he misses the power of the Bumblebee.

Oh that was the plan...with dirtbike bars.
But then I sat on the gen3 and that was that.
I've been a Suzuki guy from my earliest memories, and a gsxr1000 guy since 02.
But I always, always loved the Busa engine, and even the bike's weight.
I always enjoyed proving I could make it do what a 1k could, until approaching the ragged edge of it's limits.
You've heard me b*tch enough about the gen1 and 2 not being comfortable to me, no matter the mods.
But still, that engine, and even with great suspension, a 1k is going to dance around alot more than the Busa on bumpy public roads, vs the heavier and longer Busa.
Even cruise control has become a big deal for me in my middle age.
I know we'll continue to improve this gsxr over time, as he's as big a hp junkie as the rest of us. His wife and daughter go for the occasional ride with him too, and they'll enjoy the gen3 rear seat Alot more than the gsxr's too.
Plus, I still love the gsxr.
So it'll be like we each own both...can only ride one at a time anyway.

What benefit would a Motec have over a stock ecu on a naturally aspirated engine?

Yep
I always thought the 1k's felt like a bicycle with a rocket engine...where as the Busa felt like you were riding on the rocket itself.

I like how planted the bike is in all conditions, the liter bikes I rode were all twitchy and felt high strung whereas the Hayabusa doesn't feel like it's going anywhere as fast as it really is.

Kind of like my Ram truck, it is deceptive at how fast you are going.

Yep
I think that's exactly it.
I think most of us here have had our experiences with quick, lightweight bikes, and have grown into the Busa for just that reason. It cruises along so easy, but the thrill is still there when you want it.

My f150 3.5eb Loves this cold air we have right now too.
It is mind bogglingly quick for a stock full size 4 door 4x4.
A new z71 blew by me today(I could tell it was on purpose).
I caught him at the red light...and absoloutley destroyed him when it turned green.
I slowed down to let him catch up...but he slowed down more...lmao
I'm a Ford guy if you can't tell...my old man loves his old Ram...so I'm nice to you guys, lol:poke:
