I'm holding out for Brocks. I normally get Yoshi if I don't go with dump pipes. Any one know when Brocks will release their pipes? Anyone figured out how different the fitment is?
I had my local dealership look up different exhaust systems for my incoming Busa and according to them Brock's was working on it and told them to call back in 2-3 weeks. The Yoshimura R&D website shows several exhausts but all are Tagged as reserve now/pre-orderI'm holding out for Brocks. I normally get Yoshi if I don't go with dump pipes. They don't certainly look like they are giving them away....The Onyx slip-ons look slick but the MSRP for two is eye popping:

For over 65 years, Hideo “Pops” Yoshimura and his namesake company have designed and produced the finest exhaust systems in the world.www.yoshimura-rd.com
Moore already has a brocks on his.Brock's CT for me! Which will come first, the bike or the exhaust???
My impression is NO since Akra had a pipe designed for the Gen3 before it came out. but maybe a Gen2 pipe will fit, just not produce the optimum performance for a Gen3.Won't all existing Gen 2 pipes work for Gen 3?
I also read those Akra cans had catalytic converters in them so they could remain Euro 5 compliant. My impression is NO since Akra had a pipe designed for the Gen3 before it came out. but maybe a Gen2 pipe will fit, just not produce the optimum performance for a Gen3.
It's the same size motor but not the same. Throttle bodies on the Gen3 are smaller for one. I take your meaning though, the Gen3 engine is probably very similar to the Gen one. I still think there will be a couple hp that only a full system designed for the Gen3 will tap.As the Gen 3 uses the same motor as the gen 2, I can't see why the exhaust would deliver less performance...
Maybe, time will tell...there have been gen 2 exhausts fitted to the gen 3 and I've heard of no ill effects or any downsides to this...It's the same size motor but not the same. Moore also said the Gen 3 has two O2 sensors instead of one on the Gen 2. So it will throw a code with that pipe.Maybe, time will tell...there have been gen 2 exhausts fitted to the gen 3 and I've heard of no ill effects or any downsides to this...
There is a video of one turning 9.1 in the 1/4 with a gen 2 Brock's exhaust...
Right, good point....unless someone else used the O2 sensor eliminator...(I have one on my bike)Moore also said the Gen 3 has two O2 sensors instead of one on the Gen 2. So it will throw a code with that pipe.
I wonder if that would work?...... if the O2 sensor from previous gen works on the Gen3 that would be awesomeRight, good point....unless someone else used the O2 sensor eliminator...(I have one on my bike)
Weld on another 12mm bung. Or depending on the location of the bung that comes on the pipe it might be necessary to weld two on.Moore also said the Gen 3 has two O2 sensors instead of one on the Gen 2. So it will throw a code with that pipe.
I seriously doubt anybody will have any magic that you can sort out from the BS that makes a unique new pipe design make more power over a Gen2 pipe. It's the same size motor but not the same. I thought about that, but until we know a little more about the Gen3 ECU I would just install two sensors. Maybe they are more beneficial in this gen compared to previous.Right, good point....unless someone else used the O2 sensor eliminator...(I have one on my bike)
I'd be leery of having someone weld on my $2k full titanium pipe, I'll wait...Weld on another 12mm bung. Or depending on the location of the bung that comes on the pipe it might be necessary to weld two on.
