What is yours

Using the word guess is the most honest I can use. I didn’t mean it as criticism. Neither one of us or anybody in the world for that matter knows.
I will say that you take offense easily on certain topics and so do I. Maybe we can debate oil or tires.
I am certainly not offended by this topic...I guess I am too passionate for my own good in my old age....especially when it comes to being in uniform.

You are correct, it is only a guess on my behalf and perhaps I am out to lunch....hopefully it is never put to the test.

"the extreme we should ALL concern ourselves with", in reference to countries where it is still illegal to be gay.
You are aware that those are all Muslim nations; correct?
That it is their Muslim faith that teaches that, and that governs their land alike.
So before you open that door, just be prepared for who is waiting...
Me? I'm a Christian hypocrit.
I disagree with the gay lifestyle, but also, I am reapectful to them just the same as I am with everyone else.
They are entitled to the same rights and respect as everyone else, and I do know that it isn't my place to judge anyone.
I will discuss my belifes with anyone...discuss...not push.
Converstion is fine, but once anything is attempted to be forced on to someone, walls go up on all sides, and nothing positive is accomplished.
I am also not implying that you are pushing anything either, only that the world/the media has, about this and many other things.
Around here we used to get Jehovah's Witnesses visit our doorstep, normally I answer the door and try to be polite but there are a few who are slightly militant of their beliefs and almost get argumentative with me...

Wrong approach to take with me but I don't throw them off my property, I will take some time to explain what I've seen and what I've seen certain religions do to people.

I think I'm on the "no visit" list because it has been a long time since I've had one come to my door.

Islamic faith is strong even in countries with a strong western influence...they don't waiver in their beliefs unlike Christianity....

I should have said gay people in those nations need to concern themselves. I’m not at all one to push acceptance or a change in religion. I’m not gay but I understand the want and need for companionship so well that the sexual preference part is completely moot in my mind. My attraction to women is intrinsic and completely understand that to a gay person it’s intrinsic too.
Regardless, we all need to learn to thrive in our environments. It’s a useful skill.

Ahh didn’t know his first name; wasn’t sure that was his real last name lol. Bee, do you know him personally? Only people I know well are Captain and Semi, who hasn’t been active here in years.

Leave that pride crap outta here. I’m forced to see it everywhere else in the media. This site lets me get away from it.
Believe it or not you can treat people nice but not support what they do.
But when they’re going after the kids I draw the line.

Not sure who they are but I think I agree. If you’re talking about transvestites reading to school kids I agree It’s weird. Leave the kids out of it.

If I post about gays again feel free not to read it or join the club and put me on ignore.

All the school stuff with child porn in the libraries? Never heard about that stuff? Why is the LBGT agenda preached to children by teachers all over? Why is it so important they need to teach kids about it? It’s sin in Gods eyes. To be an ally to them is to go against Gods word.

More parents like this need to be pulling all their kids out of school as a display that this sort of curriculum is not proper nor should it be taught in schools, this sort of thing is something a parent should be teaching if they feel it is appropriate...

It could be called a parental strike and if it was organized nation wide, someone in the government would have to answer for it.

This is child indoctrination at it's worst.

Not everyone sees through "God's" eyes. Remember, the Constitution expressly protects freedom of religion. Besides, Christians are the most egregious sinners of all. What's really ironic is that judging another person is a sin in God's eyes.

People don't understand sexual orientation. It's a complicated combination of learned norms, coded in behaviors, and emotional makeup that makes a person more or less likely to choose a particular lifestyle. People who are strongly heterosexual don't understand homosexuality and think it's a facade for freaks. It's hard to be open-minded. But I think the more we close our minds, the more people struggle to gain a shared identity.

I think if we just let people be themselves, these differences will settle down to naturally occurring levels, and sexual orientation will cease to be a primary issue. I get parents frustration but parents are the ones committing violence and demanding that schools teach their agenda. I'm not defending schools, but my wife is a teacher, and I know what some parents are capable of if you don't teach their particular prejudices.

I think education needs to be inclusive. It also should not cater to a specific position, either pro-gay or anti-gay. Education should present facts as they are known, independent of social prejudices. I remember being shown a picture of Colombus coming onshore in America. Natives were there greeting him (yes, even in the picture). The teacher said Columbus was discovering America. I asked how he could discover America when Natives were already there. I was told the Natives don't count. I bet a lot of students just accepted that they didn't count. I realized this is all a prejudiced person's B.S.

The indigenous peoples didn't discover America, they lived on a land, fractured by tribal confines......the Europeans discovered what America is today....

Did they go about the right way at how they appropriated land...no, but lands were and are conquered through time, the indigenous folk put up a good fight and killed their fair share of settlers and military people....

But, got conquered just as some of them conquered their fellow indigenous folk, most of the tribes were very warlike in their approach.

As for the education of children, that's right keep it to the facts and keep sexual orientation and other such movements out of it. Basic sexuality is all a child of appropriate age needs to know...birds and bees stuff not the complex narrative that is being presented....

My 12 yr old granddaughter tells me of a kid in her class that identifies as a boy one week and then a girl the next...my granddaughter mentioned she was born a girl and is very developed and even while identifying as a boy wears revealing clothing....this to me is a person who needs far more parental guidance in her life but isn't getting it obviously...as with many kids these days.....

I know if I was a teenage boy and had the opportunity to identify as a girl and by doing so was able to get into the girl's changeroom.....I'd be there in a heartbeat.....

I am surrounded by teachers here and thankfully they don't have any sexual education curriculum other than the basic requirements but all of them tell me that the school system is nothing more than a large scale day care more than an education platform....parents would rather the kid be somewhere for the day and don't care what they do while they are there.
