Who Rode Today?

If it ain't terminal connections a little loose, maybe charge the battery then load test it (hit the starter button and check the voltage drop on ya volt meter), any way, I'm sure you know the drill Bill, also, I wonder if your starter motor is a little tired?

This is the first time it has done this...normally it flips right over with no problem and usually starts as soon as the button is pushed..

Could be a sign the battery is on it's way out...it will be 5 yrs old now.

I thought of the HID headlight maybe causing an issue so I asked the previous owner and he said it has never done that to him even once...

I took a ride this morning came home and did my 600 mile service, cleaned and lubed the chain again on the ZX.

Well today was a really fun day. Been awhile since i had a Busa blast but the weather was perfect and the roads mainly empty. I had the great honor of being selected by @c10 to ride with the Hayabusa.org toaster (that's a Titanium rod that is beautiful and falcon key chain, also Ti of course). B also sent me a Sato shift arm but it is not installed yet. Bike has some little issues still. The Amplink power module was flaky so they are sending a new one. That means no GPS so I don't have my ride stats. I was at 10,500 RPM in 5th gear and the speedo said I was maxed out - so it crazy off, Lol! Anyway riding the Busa aggressively was a blast. Bike was perfect as usual. So according to B, the "toaster" goes to John next. Took a few pictures:

I finally got the 14 out today. I know I always say the busa is a better bike but I just love this ZX-14. After riding the more refined busa all summer, it feels good to get on this mean, snarling beast! It's loud as hell, it crackles between gears and pops when you get back on the throttle after a deceleration. With the +4 rear sprocket, that rear wheel will almost lock up in a hard downshift and there's a wheelie waiting anytime I want to yank the throttle open. It's so freagin light with all the stuff I've taken off of it or replaced with lightweight parts.

Here's one of the little projects I did over the summer. Painted the fork caps gold. Titanium bolts on the Pazzos, Ti pivot pins and Ti bolts on the steering damper. There's still stuff in the works for the cockpit. I wonder how old the bike will be by the time I get everything done or if I will ever get everything done?

Goodness gracious, but thats one very neat, sexy cockpit :)

I came upon a Corvette today on my ride. It looked like he started to go kind of fast so I downshifted and waited for him to make a move. He didn't. So I waited for a nice long straight flat spot and shifted down again. I hit my turn signal and flew past shifting up through three gears. Must have hit about 120. I took it slow the rest of the way and the Corvette was right behind me when I got in town. He must have done some fast driving to catch up.

After I got the bike in the garage, I saw the Corvette driving in town down my side street. I sure hope that wasn't a school board member. I will hear about it tomorrow if it was. I swear you can't do anything around here.
