I got in a 173 mile loop today. Beautiful weather, clean roads and no traffic. Getting to know these roads better and better. Passed by cattle ranches, alpaca farm?, farms, orchards, horses and thousands of oak trees. I don’t think I got above 4,000’. Scared off six vultures chewing on a black pig on the side of the road. Never seen any wild pigs around here so that was a surprise. Also surprising was the absence of motorcycles. I saw maybe a dozen Hawgs and other big baggers but only a couple superbikes and ‘adventure’ style bikes. Bagby used to be a little town with a hotel, saloon and boarding house right where that bridge is.

Yeah, made me happy too! :D There are so many sections of these roads zig zagging in & out of five counties that allow you to really stroke the motor if you feel like it, you know, not really honking on it but just kind of twisting the revs up briskly to 8-9 grand(ish) )well into 4th gear short shifting w/o the clutch keeping the revs up but not pegging it. Before you know it you’re doing a buck forty! Cruised by lil communities called Hornitos, Cathey’s Valley, La Grange, Ahwhanee, Nipinnawasee, Coulterville and what used to be Bagby. Too bad you guys are so far away. You’d really like these roads. And when the passes over the Sierras open....

I rode the same loop as yesterday but on the Z. Lil warmer and saw maybe a couple dozen Hawgs but only a handful of other types. I can’t imagine why there aren’t more bikes out on these roads but, I’m not complaining. Same for other vehicles, almost non existent in most areas. After stopping at the top I changed a blowout for a woman in a new Prius. Her doors were open, her trunk open and her tall space saver spare was leaning against her fender, her RF tire showing a bump and slice in the sidewall. She was standing there looking thru the owner‘s manual so I knew she needed help. A few miles later on a curve I rode by an earlier accident scene with a CHP officer standing near a crunched Goldwing. The whole back half was crunched up and sitting near the front of the bike. No other vehicles around and a few miles later I saw a tow truck heading that way. I can’t imagine how that Wing got so destroyed.

Nice Terry . Surprised to see she cracked the manual open. Most today have no clue .

Did you stop in at the Waipara Rally in the Glenmark Reserve?
I went along on my DRZ, at about 1pm Saturday, but there was a small crowd (about 100) and I didn't see anyone I knew, I was on my lonesome so stayed about an hour and then shot the gap.
Thats where i was, i did a loop thru the leader valley at around the time you were there, most people were out cruising like me.
