Got in a 184.5 mile ride into and out off he Park today on the Z. Took on 3.7 gallons for a near 50 mpg! Cost was over $16! Sure sips the fuel but I was riding slower than usual being in the park for so many miles. In via 140 along the Merced River for miles and smiles and out to the north on 120. The rushing water over and around the rocks was deafening. The loooong right and left hand sweepers leaving the park on 120 make for spectacular riding. After relatively slow riding inside it’s nice to open it up on a good road. 50, 60, 70, doesn’t much matter, just swooooop left for nearly a mile and then swooooop right and repeat. Almost no traffic, clean newer pavement and trees everywhere. Some straights too,

where I could really open it up. Temps were in the 80s even @ 5,000+ feet. Highest you get this route is just over 6,000’. Just a few patches of snow were visible. The water falls were...falling and the river was fast. What little snow we got this year has started to melt so the passes should open earlier.

Beautiful shots thanks for sharing

You’re only 1,700 miles away...you’d think (someone) from (somewhere) would want to ride over the Sierra mountain passes and the surrounding foothills or visit the Park. Maybe (someday). :D

Almost forgot, surprisingly I saw over two dozen bikes out today. Six dirt bikes, a couple dual purpose bikes, two Beemer baggers, a ZX 14 and a Suzy sport bike and of course over a dozen Harleys. The warm weather musta brought them out. Oh, when I got home an injured but live bee of some sort fell from my mesh jacket. I’ve found live ones in jackets before and I always remember to look inside my helmet before putting it on after a break riding. NO bugs!

Oh shut up man with your awesome loooong corners you frequent :D
Top pictures as usual :beerchug:

Just. 120 mile loop today. A bit cooler and breezy but real nice. Only saw a dozen bikes including this nice example. The rider said it was a 2015 he bought used with 10K on the clock. Sadly he was wearing a leather jacket with no armor, gloves and a helmet. No protection below the waist as he only had jeans and lace up sneakers. He said he seldom goes over 75-80? On a ZX14R?

No riding for me today. Been raining here for two days and I won’t pull a @c10 and ride in the rain on purpose....lol

instead I put new rotors and pads and flushed the brake system on my wife’s car. All oe parts. Now to address a bad trailing arm then take it to the dealer for a random misfire and clean injectors.

Got in 180 kms today, slightly later start this morn waited till temps got into double digits

I never waited like you did Nath . . I was on the road at 9am and straight down to the Waimak bridge to meet Greg and Paul on their dirt bikes, I was on my DRZ. Yep it was chilly!
Had a great day, no crashes and we went thru Lee's Valley from the Okuku Pass end thru to Oxford and stopped at the pub there for a coffee and a chinwag with the locals, a fantastic way to spend a Sunday.
Where is your pic shot from?

Hey Greg , looks like you had a fantastic day, ive only been thru there when i had my 4wd ute.

Akkas mate , quite a few bikes out today , bloody salmon truck had dropped fish slop on all the corners from Barrys Bay to Little River....wasnt sure at first if it was a boat trailer dropping water ahead, a radiator hose gone or an oil leak, soon smelt fish and then saw blood grrr.

Wow, that's a real hazard, I wonder if any bikes went down on the slippery muck . . hope not! Did you have any slips?
