Who Rode Today?

Nice.Is it a 'comfortable' sportsbike?

I like it, and prefer it over the Busa, as the gsxr has a shorter reach to the bars(gas tank isn't as long).
A friend has dirtbike bars on his 09 gsxr1k, and it is the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden.
I had also put dirtbike bars on my gen2, but the reach to the bars was still uncomfortable to me, the lean had my lower back in just the wrong spot.
I'm 5'10", 32" inseam, 30" waist, 70" reach, 165 lbs without gear, and can flatfoot both bikes seated, with slightly bent knees.
My next bike will be another gsxr1k, and it'll get dirtbike bars.
I'de love a gen3, but with the same ergonomics as the gen2, I'll have to pass on the best motorcycle engine ever, and go with the next best thing, in a bike that fits me better.

Thought the Gen3 had shorter reach to the bars, test riders say its noticeable.

Only because the bars are supposedly slightly taller.
Frame is the same.
I tried multiple bar, seat, and riser combos on my gen2, and after 3 1/2 years, traded it, good riddance, best motorcycle engine ever...but the Busa itself feels like it was built for someone who's arms are twice as long as their legs.
Not for me, I'll stick with 1000's for now.

I find my Hayabusa fits me well with not too much of a reach but I have Heli bars and drop pegs which help. I'm around the same height and inseam as you are but not sure of my arm length...

The last GSXR 1K (2020 model) I rode was also pretty comfy although I found I was in more of a "hunch" with it as the bars were much lower.

I agree, the gsxr bars are lower.
I liked my gen2 Busa in the beginning(and had been riding gen1's, but owned a 1k at the time) I got 3 buldging discs in my lower 3 vertabrets shortly after.
That is what really made me uncomfortable, just leaned over a little further than the 1k, and was enough to do me in on the gen2.
But I Really miss the torque!

Ordered this fairing kit a few minutes ago.
My friend had been wanting it for a while anyway...the deer just helped him out, lol.
We have seen quality kits from MonsterFairing before, good fit and finish.
The whole thing was cheaper than 2 small side panels from Suzuki too...suprise.
Aside from possibly some fasteners, I think I have everything on order for repair.
So in the $2600-$2700 range...but still under $3k.
Considering I just paid off alot more than that in Dr. bills...I'm gonna go throw up now, lol.

I liked the bar set up @c10 had on RJ......

Suzuki tried to address this by placing the bars slightly back (12mm) but a little higher would have been nice too...I think aerodynamics caused them to keep the bars lower...

Good price and it will look pretty cool when done.

Yeah, that is the Spiegler bar setup, and what I had on my gen2.
I put them on in 2011

suppose the reach to the bars would be the same wouldn't it...

Without an offset to the rear, made into or bolted to the top-clamp, then yes.
The bar mount is taller, and of course there are multiple rises, and bends of bars to put on.
But to get the bars where I needed them, I would've had to use mini ape-hangers and lean them way back towards the seat.
