Who Rode Today?

I go through this thought process constantly.

Given how wet these past several years have been, this year I loosened up on my "no chance of rain" rule. I dealt with bouts of drizzle just last weekend but I am still alive HA HA. But dusk, dawn, and dark are risky times for all of those reasons. I do not need risk as part of this hobby.

There is nothing wrong with these constraints.

Those are all just obstacles that add to the fun, lol.

Forgot to post but went on a ride Monday with 30% chance rain thinking that the storm had passed. Five minutes into the ride and it starts pouring. Rain was welcomed because it was the first time that i rode with the Road 6's. I have to say that the tires performed well. Grip felt good on the wet roads. I don't think that ill purposely ride in the rain but at least i know that the tires can handle the wet roads well.
I think this is the vid where Fortnine goes on about how well the Mich's perform in weather, FYI

Abilene Texas, I think we had over 100 days this Summer with temps above 100 degrees. Yesterday it was only 99, I'll take that any day. You can tell the temp just by looking at you watch, 8am it's 80, 9am it's 90, 10am it's 100. I can't wait until Sept when night time temps drop into the 50's.

Rode on Sunday with a new group of guys on the back roads. As soon as they started the ride, they immediately went up to 80mph on the back roads. When the road straightened out, they went triple digits. I kept up for a bit but eventually turned around and went back home. I wasn't going to put myself or others at risk riding with them.

I am alot of stop and go daily driven miles.

That's exactly why I ride alone, as well as the risks above I also need my license for my living. There is a time and a place

I got out for a short 100km or so ride in the back country...

It is a beauty of a day out there, good temperatures, lots of sun and few cars...

The road pictured in the background is known for coming up as a shortcut on people's GPS.....it looks decent in the picture but it gets pretty wild and wooly further on past the trees...

...looks like there might be a Halloween tree down there...

There's lots of those trees around but they are generally in the middle of a field somewhere and impossible to get at...

Same as vintage vehicles, lots around but either in a driveway (with nobody home) or going down the road.

I got out today, it was a beautiful day around 75'F...a slight cloud cover to keep the heat off....and best of all very little traffic.....

I managed to come across a spot for a great couple of pictures......the owner of the bus company thought it was a stellar idea and I offered for him to use my bike's picture to advertise the world's fastest school bus but he said the school board and parents have zero sense of humor....
