Who Rode Today?

Do it both days. Another benefit of going on tour is how much better you become as a rider day to day. From the third day on you begin to notice a more relaxed and confident kinda feeling on the bike.
Haven’t rode multiple days in several years but itching too. Seems like I had more time when I was raising kids and working two jobs.

Next time you’re near Inverness go ride Hayman toad in Brooksville, fast road with plenty of long fast sweepers.
I’ve done Hayman more times than I could count. Lol! Powell rd is fun too. I enjoy riding in Brooksville and Dade city. The pic on my post on previous page was actually taken at the gas station on spring lake hwy and 50.

I got in 143 cool miles today. Ever have one of those days when the stars have aligned? Manoman I had fun! For some reason everything felt just right. Speeds were way up as I found I was going 10-20 mph faster in the corners than usual despite some wet shady corners and leftover debris from the last rain storm. :firing: The empty straightaways were even faster. Instead of 75-90 I looked down to see 100-130! I managed a buck fitty for a couple miles alongside some railroad tracks. Straight as an arrow with no homes or cross roads and good pavement too. Two miles go by very quickly at that speed. I stopped alongside the tracks for a bit and a passenger train came flying by, musta been doing 70 or better. Only had seven cars behind the engine. Stopped at the top of the Golden Chain hiway and saw only two other bikes in 143 miles, a big BMW and a two up adventure bike. The BMW rider waved and the two up riders didn’t.:D

I would’ve definitely kept my factory exhaust if the mufflers looked, as good as, the gen1. I’m not sure what suzuki was thinking when they designed the giant potato launchers the gen2 comes with. I have a some gen1 mufflers on the shelf that I purchased to add to my DR650 (common mod for that bike to swap the stock boat anchor with the busa’s aluminum can) and should drag one of those monster gen2 mufflers out of my attic just to do a side by side comparison.

I agree. The Gen1 cans look perfectly ok to me. I’ve modded one set by removing the chrome end caps and drilling nine 1/2” holes in the end plates and five into the large baffle just inside. Actually lost five HP on the dyno but the sound is terrific. The OEM exhaust on my Z look ok as well.

It seems the gen 2 exhaust were the ugliest followed closely by the gen 3.....sure don't know what Suzuki was thinking...

Gen1 and gen2 midpipe bolt patterns are the mirror image of each other.
You can take aftermarket gen1 bolt-on mufflers, with sliding hangers, and they fit the gen2, only on opposite sides, so if they have logos, they face the inside.
Cut the factory mounts off the gen1's, buy some round sliding hangers, and they can be modified on to the gen2.
That or extensions from the passenger pegs to bolt them up.

I have considered adapting a gen1 muffler to my yoshimura header since I have the gen1’s midpipes on the shelf too, but have not looked close into it. I’m sure it would look good.

It’s a shame. I looked at my bike at the dealer and was admiring the beautiful front, but once I took a side look, my smile turned into horror face, once I saw those mufflers. I knew they were coming off asap, before I even signed the papers.

Same for me very windy and scattered showers, rode up to Twisted Biscuit with my nephew, sun never broke through the clouds, still enjoyed riding. Got to try out my new Cardo PACKTALK Bold, worked great! Thanks to the recommendation from PKeith.

From what I’ve read they’re very expensive whether buying the Duo or having to buy the 2nd helmet unit.
