Who Rode Today?

A former colleague of mine had one but found it too big and heavy for what he wanted to do with it so traded it for a 650..

He belongs to an adventure tour group and they travel on mostly all logging roads and very little pavement.

I rode a bike I’m buying from work, 2019 DL1000XA V-Strom, immaculate cond, lots of extras, 14000kms low kms, went to the bank today to get the money, looks good so far,
Anyone else here like these machines?

Rode the '14 DL1000 V Strom for last couple years (10k mi). A joy to ride, absolute joy to work on. Shinko 705's, and one tooth down at front, perfect complement to the Gen 2 as the Strom is more suited to ADV, naturally. I sold the bike last November only because I'm not skilled enough to single-track on it, (meaning not young enough to pick up its 500lbs more than twice/day in dirt ... if you're not crashing you're not improving). I'd own another one of these in a heartbeat because of the legendary reliability, low-end grunt, etc. One of the ugliest bikes I've ever owned but drew more attention (here in SoCal) than the Busa did, oddly.

Out on the Strom today, really enjoying everything about it, great machine!

That old duck is pristine.....

I suppose your winter will soon be on it's way....

Of course it's nothing like our winter though.....
It’s immaculate in so many ways.
It is on what we call, club registration - cheaper, but only limited amount of times it’s allowed out per year.

It will be here soon… although it has been very below avg summer and inconsistent weather. Terrible actually..
they are telling us it should be a dry winter… but I’ve given up believing in what they say these days… lol

We have something similar here but we have the choice to register them as "historical vehicles" or as regular vehicles....with historical vehicles you can only go to events or drive/ride limited kms per year which sounds similar to your club registration.

Most people just register as regular vehicles.

Weather is hit and miss...only politicians and weather people can both be wrong most of the time yet still be employed...

A short ride around town then a trickle charge on my aging Scorpion LifePo4

Up to Daytona for a bit today on the Busa, went yesterday super early on the Road Glide to try and get some Ohlins installed and after a good 30-40min sales pitch and question and answer session, I was ready to pull the trigger… went and got my bike and hand him the keys and he says “ok we will be installing the silver shocks” ummmm nah I’m good. I am about to drop a grand on something you sold that you DONT have and you want me to settle. What a waste of time. Lol

I rode a little over 200 miles today, my new yoshi slip ons sounded terrific under acceleration and when sitting at a red light and barely cracking the throttle, got a few comments on how they look and sound. Great inside right ankle warmer! Didn’t expect that but I got used to It. Left home at 8:30 am and returned home around 4p. Great ride, got very sleepy at one point so pulled over at a store and met some other bikers, drank a green tea and rode on, I carry two green teas with me on every ride, great day on my Busa.
