Who Rode Today?

I went with the same brakes. They sort of fool you. Takes awhile to sinter them in. But they bite way better once done. A few "panic" stops will take care of that.

If you have the audio upgrade, you'll have an amp.

If they are original, I'd change them. Honda used cheap paper speakers. You can do nice upgrades in that dept.

Yeah, they sound like they need upgraded, and I am going to.
I didn't think I'de even use the radio, but after trying it, I am suprised that I actually like it.
I ordered a service manual too, so I will look and find out if it has an amp or not, and if so, where it is.

You also have a CB radio. If you go to your trunk. There is a little door at the bottom center. If you open that you will find the CB, CD changer if you have one. I believe the Amp would be mounted in the left saddlebag. I have none of those so I'm going by recollection. I can go to my service manual if need be. But you'll have your own soon enough.

The CD changers are known to have issues.

Yes, it has cb controls, but no cb radio or cd changer in the trunk(maybe it had a cb at one time, I don't know).
I'll have to look for an amp, but from memory, there isn't one in the side case.

Bike has 2 antenna in pics? One was CB. They don't put the CB antenna on it unless it had that option. At least as far as I know. Your Amp could be in that trunk compartment.

Yes, it has factory cb controls and the cb antenna.
There are several aftermarket wires/plugs visible, the exterior wires I 'assume' are for heated gear(since no heated seats).
The aftermarket toggle switches in the front right lock box, one is for leds in the fronr rotor guards, the other, I'm not sure yet.
The headlights seem to be aimed well, but I cannot get them to move by the adjustment switch.
It has several things that I have yet to look into, but I've ordred most of what I think that I'll need now.
I want to get a bluetooth adapter for the radio too, but Wingstuff seems to out of stock on Alot of things.
Here's some more pictures.

Aftermarket CD player. JDM unit.

The CB would be there, if they kept/had one. I don't think you had the Audio Upgrade Option. The rear cable is for IComm that plugs into helmet. Standard equipped.

They could have kept the CB antenna as the rear armrest needs the antenna mount as it's mounting point also. You can do some decent audio speaker upgrades. Also a lot of the Bluetooth adapters boost the signal.

I pipe the audio into my helmet if I'm doing some miles. If just around town or stopped yeah you use the speakers a good bit.

Cool
Thanks for the info.
I need to get the mirrors off so it will fit through my basement door.
Then up on the lift, get it apart, and wait for all the parts I ordered to show up, lol

I also see speakers listed as 4.5" and 5.5"
Do you know if 4.5" is factory, and 5.5" is an upgrade that still fits?
Or does the bike come with one or the other?

Go with 5.5 speakers. And go aftermarket. You can get a lot better speaker than Honda. Just check the impedance.

I think that little rectangular black box loose in the trunk is a Bluetooth adapter.

They usually install them under the left front storage cubby since that is where the stereo harness comes up to.

The mirrors fold in like a car. They may need a little persuasion. It's a down and in motion.

Ok, I will check to see if that is a Bluetooth adapter.
I will go with the 5.5" speakers too then.
I also just took the mirrors off, and now have to take off the add on extended foot rests and air deflectors, and Hopefully then it will fit through the basement door...
lol

Lol. Welcome to big girls.

I didn't notice the air deflectors. Those are called Baker wings. I'm told they are fantastic at directing wind all over the place.

But it starts looking like a semi truck!

I'll get back to working it again in a little while, and hopefully get it inside.
Then the fun part of getting it on the center stand while it's on the lift.
I'm gonna have to get an extra set of hands for that one...
The center stand thing kicked my ass at first. It's all about technique. My problem that kept me stumped was moving the bike to center. I kept thinking/fearing it was going to go too far over and tip over and I couldn't stop it. Turns out I never was getting it center point. Man I hurt my back, got sore shoulders, and blisters.

Then I just let my center stand do it's job. Extend it down tilt the bike, the center stand will not let it tip over too far. And then push down and pull up.

Now I felt stupid making it so hard to do. Now I can get it up on center stand in one movement, less than 10 seconds. Yeah I felt pretty dumb after I found how easy it was.

They are just so big you can't see what you're doing. You get the feel eventually.

Spent about 20 minutes outside getting the seat, rear crash bars, some air deflectors, and highway pegs off.
I covered the side cases with towels, and it just fit through the door...it'll be fun getting it back out, lol
But, barring a catastrophe, I won't have to bring it back in for a long time, air filter cleanings can be done on my carport.
I spent about an hour on it inside, and now I just need to get it on the center stand.
From there, I can remove the front wheel, fork tubes, and triple trees.
This round of maintenance will be,
Steering neck bearings
Fork seals(not leaking but 42k miles and 17 years old), factory 10w fork oil.
Front and rear Ebc HH brake pads, and clean calipers.
Front wheel bearings.
Balance front tire.
K&N air filter.
NGK sparkplugs.
Motul synthetic 10w40, Honda oil filter, pack of Honda crush washers, and a magnetic drain plug.
Footpegs! I already took off the floorboards.
4 led headlights.
Bar-ends.
A stainless steel belly pan/guard to protect the engine.
A pair of short levers.
Honda factory service manual.
And I'm sure I'm forgetting some other things too.

Yeah, I know there's a technique...and I couldn't get it on my Concours either, lol
I'll fight with it some more later.
