Who Rode Today?

Another 116 miles in the books today, had other plans today but it all got cancelled so I took off on the bike. I typically ride in horse country pretty horses, cows, stables, barns and houses. Stopped the by gardens and snapped a few pics...

Great photos!
Looks just like New Zealand lol.

I went for a ride yesterday and had a close encounter of the 1st kind with a cop on a bike . . a Honda ST1100 full police issue with all the crap.
I'd just passed a group of slower riders and a guy on a GSXR went past me pretty darn quick, I was doing 170kmh, he must've been around 220kmh.
I immediately got on the hammer to hunt him down but luckily I glanced in my mirror and saw red and blue flashing lights behind me . . . uh-oh.
I backed off the throttle and pulled over a bit and the bike cop went past me at warp speed chasing down the Gixxer.
I was thinkin' "Good luck with catching the Gixxer Mr Po-po". I carried on a mile or so, came around a right hand blind corner and lo and behold there was the cop bike with the guy on the GSXR on the side of the road gesticulating like mad men.
I slowed right down and cruised past, and recognised the guy as a dude I know but haven't seen in a while.
I had his ph number in my phone so I called him last night to get the story . . .
He said he had no idea the cop was after him, wasn't checking his mirrors, and he backed off as he approached a line of cars ahead.
Next thing he knows he hears a siren right up his rear end and looks behind . . flashing lights.
He pulled over because the cop would have had his plate so no point running.
He said he was clocked at 179kmh by the cop's lazer gun, the cop was hiding parked up behind trees and lasered him as he had passed.
So yeah, the cop just came out of hiding and chased him down.
He lost his license on the spot for 28 days, then goes to court.
Most likely 6 months loss of license and $800 fine.
The cops here have the power to seize the vehicle, but the cop allowed this guy to ride home and the cop followed him home.
So that was my day yesterday, exciting having a cop pass ya at illegal speeds and not even have to stop.
Yeeeeehaaa, some one else got the hammer. :firing:

Lesson learned . . the cops hide now, and use laser guns to zap ya.
Note to self . . . must go buy a laser jammer

Hour laws allow a traffic cop to suspend a riders license for a month (before) he’s found guilty of an offense? That’s passing sentence at least in part before any due process whatsoever.

Yeah well I guess the Queen's laws here in the Commonwealth country (colony) of NZ are a little different than the good ol' US of A.
And it's not just the motorcycle license suspended . . . it's every license that is held is suspended until it goes to court.
We don't have the freedoms you guys in the States enjoy, oh and we don't have the riots here either. (Minneapolis is one place I don't wanna be, but I see the violence is spreading from State to State, I don't envy you guys with all that trouble building)

Traffic offenses to riots? There’s a comparison...

Yup, if it's too big a nasty infringement...
Stopped, ticketed, license suspended on the spot, (call mum to come pick you up), vehicle taken away and impounded then crushed/sold no matter who owns it. (speeding in grandmum's car.. too bad... it's gone)
Then off to court for the "formal" proceedings - fines, license suspended or cancelled.

We don't have police bikes being used around where I live. Maybe for a parade. I guess because of the winter, rain and such. I got pulled over in California by the Kawi 1000's years ago.

Same here, you get pulled over doing 50kms/hr over the limit, you get the vehicle impounded, license suspended 21 days and then court where the fine can be 2 yr license suspension and up to $10,000 fine...

If you get pulled over with no license, insurance or registration, vehicle can be impounded (won't be driving at least) and fines escalate accordingly....

With either of these, getting insurance after is almost a no-go. A person would be paying the same insurance as a person coming off a DUI suspension-not cheap.

I took my most used 35 mile route this morning before it got too hot. I then came home and mowed. I normally see a lot of broken down boats going toward or from the lake area.

I live the look of that red Corbin, kind of wished I had one to try out and see if it'll let me ride as long as my saddlemen does. Only problem is with my saddlemen it's really hard after 4 or 5 hours but everything else ive tried has had more then just being too firm as an issue.

Corbins can be ordered with soft foam. Much nicer especially on tour.

Since Michigan restaurants still aren't open for anything but carryout we took a little ride to Ohio

Unfortunately we had a bad delay and by the time we got to the restaurant we were headed to it was dinner time and they were too busy so we ended up at a little hole in the wall. Here's where the bad delay came in,

One of the guys we don't ride with often invited invited a friend of his that showed almost full squid except for he was luckily wearing a helmet. Came around a curve after coming off a bridge a little fast but nothing crazy and there was a weird grade to the road as well as some gravel and the guy that invited the squid ran into and along the wall and got lucky and only shaved down his frame slider, damaged his jacket that saved his skin and scraped his knee when his regular jeans tore a little. As u can see his friend followed and was not as lucky, went up the wall and thought he was gonna go over the side (big dropoff) and smashed the wall, hit his shoulder pretty hard and bike cartwheeled. Broke his shifter so he could only get it to the gas station and of course broke his fairings and tank pretty bad. Was a nice zx10 he had but some money into but everyone got to hear the speech on this being the reason I preach constantly about everyone needing full gear on at all times. Luckily he was able to walk away with minimal injuries and the bike can be fixed.

Looks like he ruined a Tattoo though.
