Who Rode Today?

Sweet pics. I’ve run into ‘snow tunnels’ before in Glacier NP and Crater Lake. Where is this and where are you? Fill in your profile. :)

Got out yesterday with a few of the lads. A nice 500km day with a stop at a country pub for lunch. Started along the Great Ocean Rd..

Sitting on 70kmh in an 80 zone waiting for a chance to overtake.. Decided to drop back to 2nd, and take 3 or 4 cars at a go.. Saw an opening and have it the beans.. Get almost past the first car, and whatta know, the front wheel comes up.. Guys following did give me hell at the next stop..

Road out over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. It is amazing wizzing along 20 feet above he open sea. The northern side is desolate low lands. Never get to see this enough. A bit of a tricky ride though. Some two way traffic in narrow lanes in the tunnels. Wind is crazy unpredictable. You should always ride this road in the middle of the lane!

If you ever make it out here we’ll have to ride the coast hiway where the Pacific is right next to the road for miles and miles.

I got in a couple hundred miles today as I felt the need....the need for speed! Lots of Sunday traffic today but only on the connecting roads, the actual hiways with numbers. Most were headed the other way so it wasn’t a problem. Not as many bikes out as I thought there might be, mostly Harleys. Everyone waived though.:)

Ha, social distancing even while relieving yourself.

Finally got my old RF insured under our collector program today... super cheap insurance but there are some restrictions of use. Aimlessly riding around is allowed though so I gave 'er.

It may be jurassic but the little 600 still knows how to scream its face off. Fun! :super:
It and it's big brother are very underrated bikes....few people even looked twice at them.

Anyone notice that old gas pump with the glass ‘bowl’ on top? That’s in a lil historic town called Hornitos. I listened to some vintage Arlo this morning and one of his songs stuck in my head all day, over and over and...
‘Comin into Los Angeleeeez......bringin in a couple a keeeeez, don’t touch my bag if you pleeez, Mr, Customs man’...
better than that time when I heard ‘I fought the law and the, law won’. (That) one drove me nuts!

Truth. The collector program is awesome...

The limitations aren't too bad either... no riding to work or to a commercial property (ie: shopping mall, bawdy house) unless it's for an exhibition or show, or that commercial property is a repair facility, but anything else goes. No mileage limit so you can joyride it all you want. The only stipulation is that the bike must be kept in the same condition as it was when ICBC approved it, and you need to have a regular plated vehicle as your "daily".

My old '82 Katana 1100 was insured under the program, as was the '83 GS1100E that I had a few years ago. Even an 1100cc bike was under $400 for the year.

A 1999 Hayabusa will be eligible in just 4 more years... think about that, Rubb. ;)

I am all over this program.
#1. Got that covered.I don't have a job.(no need to ride it to work)
#2. No worries, hate the fuggin' mall.
#3. Keep in same condition/no changes. No worries,I'm a lazy bastid,I won't even change the oil.
#4. By then my "other vehicle" will be an insured moped.
Ok,just got to find a mint '99 for around 500 bucks.

If you move back to Ontario, the rules for "historic plates" are much different.
