Why a busa

i Have owned/ridden tons of bikes over the years. From Rupp 50's, benelli's, nortons, 2-smokes, dirt bikes, KZ's, GS's, hell, even a couple cruisers,...then starting in '87 the GSXR line. I own 4 gsxr's presently and they are all fun.But after building/racing a 1500cc turbo KZ a few years back,(the ONLY non-suzuki race/sportbike I have owned since '87) I knew I wanted a daily rider that was comfy, reliable and capable of 8 sec passes, all at the same time. And being I am a SUZUKI guy, there was really no other choice. The Busa is the ultimate streetbike, period. Tons of aftermarket, you can personalize it any way you want. TONS of go-fast goodies...And it still remains perfectly streetable, and gets 30+mpg still. Our turbo GSXR 1100 only gets around 16mpg to get it to run like a modded Busa. And its not very well mannered in street traffic either, and overheats in the summer.
Well, there you have it, I wanted the baddest streetbike on the road, so I got a Busa.

I bought my Busa for the simple reason that it was a great fit. I am not very tall, and I tried a bunch of liter bikes, but they were all too tall, I had to stand tiptoed. I sat on the Busa and she felt perfect. Flat footed, I feel comfortable and confident. It just seemed right. While I am not tall, I am pretty broad, and all my friends tell me the bike fits me and my personality perfectly. There is no way I would ever go back now!!

It could be because I am 43 and successful enough to have whatever I want.....

It could be that at 43 I can insure whatever I want...

It could be that you (and everyone else) can pick the single Busa out the other 100 bikes without an effort....

It could be that it really is the most powerful sportbike available....

It could be that there are more aftermarket parts available for the bike than any other.....

It could be cause if your really have to ask you never will get it......

But mostly it is because when the guy or gal pulls up beside me in the bike, auto or truck and gives the sign or revs the motor, I can honestly just chuckle because there really is nothing to prove.

I always wanted one sense a first saw it back in 99. cuz they are different and they are one of a kind. God heard my prayers and my wife got me this for my Bday

Why a busa?
Why do u breath?
Perfetion! Beauty! beasiality! erection! erection! erection!
And I don't even have one yet, not alone driven one yet.
BUT I WILL....AND I WILL HAVE ONE...and that's a promice!
And all of the above X 100 squared!

started the summer with a 600rr yet this wasn't my first bike, my first bike was a gixxer 600 neede somthing bigger plus its a more comfortable ride love the speed but only in moderation need trackdays

i liked how it felt. i am 6'-2" and the bike "fit" better than most i had ridden. i liked the styling, etc. if it had been a 500 i would have still got it.

it's an enjoyable bike to ride virtually every time i ride. i didn't have that with other bikes in the past. as far as wanting it because it was "the fastest production bike", well i grew up in a race shop and know that any idiot can go fast with enough money...

Same here!
except I'm closer to 6'3" :p:

I first heard of the Busa in a magazine in 1999. While I was reading the review at work on my break. I knew I had to see this bike in person.. That weekend I went to the local Suzuki shop and laid my eyes on this bike that had some really good lines. But the color wasn't my taste. I would go in there every so often just to gaze at it. The more I seen it the more I like the color. It was different and different was good. When I decided about taking a loan out to buy it. It already had a sold sign sittin on her. Well I went and got a truck instead. About a month or so later. I go back to the shop and the bike is back. I asked the sales man what happened. He said the guy had to sell it back to them because he already got 4 speedoing tickets and was about to loose his license. They were asking 7300.00 and I just got a new truck and no way could I afford it now. Even at that price. DAM DAM DAM. Fast forward 7 years later. For months I debated on getting a new bike.. I told myself I would just go and look and see if something catches my eye. Well the rest is history......

My BMW K1200R is off the road temporarily after hitting a kangaroo. I have owned it for 7 months.

My financial controller and I have come to a set of rules:

Rule 1 - only 1 bike at a time.
Rule 2 - if I buy a brand new bike I have to keep it 12 months.
Rule 3 - if I buy a second-hand bike I have to keep it 6 months.
Rule 4 - A BMW counts as NEW, even if it is USED.

I tried to implement another rule:
Rule 5 - I can get another bike while one is getting repaired.

This didn't go down too well. However, I tried to justify a little run-around bike to keep me entertained. Like a Suzuki GS500F or even a 250. "It will save heaps on tyres alone" I tried.

We have a bike trip to Tasmania planned this New Year which is cutting it close for getting the BMW back on the road.

My wife said "we can't tour on a little bike if the BMW is not ready in time. You may as well get a proper bike". I bought the Hayabusa on ebay that night for hardly any more than a GS500F anyway.

Happy Days.

i was hooked from the day i even heard about the Hayabusa. A friend let me ride it around a parking lot in first gear, and the power is addictive. I went to the dealer, and traded my cruiser bike in on it at 21 years old. Everyone said I would kill myself. I put 7500 miles on it and never so much as dropped it in a driveway... then had to sell it. I'll be buying another one here shortly.

I bought mine because I am a person of excess; .454 Casulls, KZ1000s, Corvettes.... just always bought or took on more than I needed. The Busa was a natural choice.

Having ridden everything from Honda Z50s when I was a kid to Gold Wings as an adult NO BIKE has the versatility of the Hayabusa; track days, drag strips, Wal Mart parking lots, cruising down the beach with the wife on back, you name it, its pretty much at home no matter what you do with it!

Thats why!

"you name it, its pretty much at home no matter what you do with it!"

Isn't this the truth!!! Suzuki engineers are awesome!!! Thats one big reason why I ride Suzuki's, smart engineering...
