Why is it??

While out for a walk this morning I came across one of my neighbors cussing up a storm and stomping around his driveway...I asked if he was ok and he pointed at the brand new pick up truck attached to the snowmobile trailer parked in front of his garage door...and told me that's his adult son's new truck and trailer (with snowmobile inside blocking his ability to get his car out of his garage and go to work...

Apparently his kid (who lives in his basement) parked this here late last night and got a ride from his buddy to go to work taking the keys with him...

So I offered to drive him to work as his wife had left hours before and couldn't leave to get him...on our way he was at his wit's end with his 32 yr old basement dweller and wondered what he can do...I said one of two things, either put up with him or if he has a good relationship, ask him to move, if he doesn't have a good relationship get an eviction notice.

He was saying another neighbor had a similar problem with his 30 something basement dweller who bought a new Audi and decided it should be parked in the garage as it is an expensive new car as opposed to his dad's and mom's older cars....they have a 2 car garage and the dad parks his car outside so his mom can park hers inside...I said that'd be the damn day I'd park my car outside when I pay the mortgage...

Apparently this is quite common-I have noted several adult kids living at home all driving new, expensive heavily modified vehicles lately. One has a Tacoma which has a Sky Jacker lift kit, huge tires and a VERY obnoxious exhaust system and he drives it like it is a getaway vehicle at a bank robbery...

Yesterday we got around 6 inches of snow but it was really light to shovel..

Yet there were still ass-hats driving around in rolling snowbanks as they were too lazy to clear off their vehicles...while I was out at the end of my driveway clearing the plow-leavings, a lady who lives a few doors down only had a tiny little spot to see out of on her windshield came really close to hitting me even though I was in my driveway, you could see her tracks in the snow going right across the end of my driveway over top of my foot prints..

When I was still serving, I would make troops clear their vehicles off before driving away...one of them told me I couldn't make him clear his own personal vehicle and I was overstepping my authority (respectfully of course)...so instead of arguing with him, I waited until he pulled away in his rolling snowbank and then called the MPs, a good ticket adjusted his attitude somewhat....

He actually asked me if I called the MPs on him and I said I certainly did and would do it again in a second....I then called his boss into my office and gave them both a stern lecture on how the safety of personnel is the responsibility of everyone especially the leadership even if they are in their own vehicle...

Pretty hard to do that with a civilian out on the public roads and by the time you call the cops and have them try to find the car the spring thaw would have arrived..

Yesterday we had a pile of snow-wet heavy stuff....

You could sure tell who didn't store their snow blowers right as they were shoveling and as soon as I was out, a couple of them came over to ask me to take a look..

I had a series of general questions.
Did you lose stabilizer? Answer was generally no
Did you drain your fuel system last spring?-same answer-no
When was the last time you did a tune up? The answer was generally-what's a tune up?

I said, maybe next spring you'll pay a little more attention to these things when your back is sore from shoveling.

...so you have snowblowers to fix?
lol
Nope....not one....

When I went over to check one, the owner had it half torn apart-he had the carb off it and didn't know what to do from there as he couldn't find the right youtube video to follow....the thing was still under warranty but they don't cover lack of maintenance....I told him what to do to clean the carb and left it at that.

Used to love the flood of "get running" repair orders that came in every spring at the moto shop. Nests in air filters, crystals in float bowls. Yucko.

I had a claim once for a snow bird that stored their auto during the winter. An industrious rodent had labored to FILL the large air box on the Cadillac with dog food from the nearby bin. Bad mouse!

Why is it that some guys still wear their pants below their butt? Saw one yesterday walking with one hand holding up his pants that, below the knee, looked bunched up clear to the ankle as if the pants were made for an 8 footer. Musta been a tourist as I seldom see idiots like that around here. I don’t get it! Why? They make it harder to walk or run, they require a bow legged stance and one hand just to keep them from falling down altogether.

Don't forget the ball caps worn backwards....

Today whilst out on my usual wife induced errands...

I had to go to the Walmart....when I was going into the parking area, I noticed a tractor trailer sitting there with a Ford Fusion squashed against a light pole...nobody was in the Fusion thankfully but I was wondering to myself why anyone would take a 53 ft trailer through the way he was going as it was very tight quarters and just one row over was the transport drive area...

The trunk on the Fusion was mashed into the back window....when I left the accident investigation team was there...

I then went over to the grocery store and when I was walking across the parking lot sans mask, some lady came out of her car to scold me for not having a mask on......I told her there's two things she needs to do "one-shut up and two-get back in your car...

Man bun (sans man bun now) was standing on his break by the store and as I got closer he said -"so that's what I looked like? an idiot?" I said "pretty much only she listened the first time unlike yourself"

It always amazes me when women confront strangers like that. It's like asking for an arse whipping. I had a woman follow me to my office to yell at me. She says I cut her off, I didn't even notice. I told her: " Lady, I'm sorry for whatever I did to make you angry, but you just confronted a 300 lb black man alone here in a parking lot" You should have seen her get out of there. Haha.

I think it's because they have a sense of entitlement to safety left over from the days of chivalry....

One of my former colleagues who is a 6'6" 290lb shredded black man with black belts in a few different disciplines was called "boy" by a woman one time in a mall parking lot...he picked up her shopping car full of groceries and threw it into the back of her pick up truck. He was asked by store security later why he did it and he told him he was helping her put her groceries in her vehicle as a good Samaritan.

As his supervisor at the time he reported the incident to me...nothing ever came from it.

I was dong something last evening and my wife had on one of those Hallmark movies...although I couldn't see the screen, I could hear the dialogue.

A person was acting the part of an ex-soldier and in his dialogue he was using terms like "roger that, copy that, I've got your six" and other such drivel...

In all my years in the military and conversing with many ex-military members, I have yet to hear these terms used in casual conversation.

I wonder who the advisors to the writers are...??

I find it amusing to listen to such a movie but not see the picture...some of the writing is really bad...

You should have joined her, you probably missed the best parts.
Like when the car got rear-ended at 25mph, and exploded like it had a case of dynamite in the trunk...

Judging by what I was hearing, I don't think I missed much...when I looked over at her, she was doing something else so the TV was on as background noise...

Like all TV explosions...I like when the grenades go off-they look like they are thermal nuclear....

...another "why is it?"

Why is it that Meghan and Harry left the UK to get out of the lime-light yet every time I look at the on-line news, there is some story about them...? If you want to get out of the lime-light there are ways of doing it...

Harry is a heck of a nice guy though...I've met him a few times and he acts just like a normal everyday guy....must be Meghan who's driving this....
