While out for a walk this morning I came across one of my neighbors cussing up a storm and stomping around his driveway...I asked if he was ok and he pointed at the brand new pick up truck attached to the snowmobile trailer parked in front of his garage door...and told me that's his adult son's new truck and trailer (with snowmobile inside blocking his ability to get his car out of his garage and go to work...
Apparently his kid (who lives in his basement) parked this here late last night and got a ride from his buddy to go to work taking the keys with him...
So I offered to drive him to work as his wife had left hours before and couldn't leave to get him...on our way he was at his wit's end with his 32 yr old basement dweller and wondered what he can do...I said one of two things, either put up with him or if he has a good relationship, ask him to move, if he doesn't have a good relationship get an eviction notice.
He was saying another neighbor had a similar problem with his 30 something basement dweller who bought a new Audi and decided it should be parked in the garage as it is an expensive new car as opposed to his dad's and mom's older cars....they have a 2 car garage and the dad parks his car outside so his mom can park hers inside...I said that'd be the damn day I'd park my car outside when I pay the mortgage...
Apparently this is quite common-I have noted several adult kids living at home all driving new, expensive heavily modified vehicles lately. One has a Tacoma which has a Sky Jacker lift kit, huge tires and a VERY obnoxious exhaust system and he drives it like it is a getaway vehicle at a bank robbery...
