I wonder why it is that Korean car companies often place their rear signal lights in the bumper yet keep the tail and brake lights in the higher location?
Here in North America we don't look at the rear bumper because it's quite low and hard to see in traffic....
Here in Canada, Transport Canada regulates such things but for some reason failed to regulate these signal lights. Many motorcycles had to have those "stalk" type signal lights to make up the spacing between them even though the blanks were still there from the Euro spec bikes...
I wonder how much is styling, vs trying to conform to as many different market's vehicle laws?
Somewhere like the U.S. especially.
Where each state has it's own vehicle laws.
The state's laws are somewhat at the manufacturer's mercy too, for example;
I live in Va, one of 3 Commonwealth states left, aka, lots of bs laws.
Your truck is too high, your car is too low, your window tint is too dark, you anual state inspection sticker expired,etc.
Now, go 45 minutes south into NC...and they basically have have one vehicle law...if it'll move under it's own power...you can drive it on the road, lol.
Years ago, early 2000's, a friend's dad(Va resident) legally ordered and bought a new Oldsmobile, from a NC dealer, and he ordered it with Dark factory tint.
The actual glass was dark too, it wasn't stick on film.
Well, it was Way darker than the Va tint limits, and he had 2 different State Troopers stop him, and tell him he had to scrape it all off immediately, and if he refused, they would.
He would laugh and explain, and told them to scrape away...but be prepared to pay for any scratches.
They were not happy, but there was nothing that they could do, lmao.
But, it really just depends on the cop, as all the ones I have ever dealt with were clueless to motorcycle laws.
Va requires 8" between motorcycle turn signals, but I've had so many bikes inspected with undertails with signals side by side, and many a cop behind me that never pulled me over for it.
Go figure, lots of pointless laws, and just for the sake of revenue...
