You guys can pass me in my lane any time you like. It doesn't bother me in the least as long as you don't go blowing by me with a 60 mph closing speed. Be curteous and give me an arms width of clearance and I'm happy. :beerchug:

Years back, I was on the highway on my beloved Katana 600. As I was passing a gas station, I saw a bike out of the corner of my eye entering the highway. Made nothing of it. About a minute goes by and that same bike passes me in my lane going probably at least 30 mph over my speed which was probably 80 - 90. And that's two up. Scared the heck out of me! What an idiot! I was asjusting my position within a lane once in a while - you know. So, he could've easily clipped me. What an idiot!

I was riding the Dragon once upon a time...thought I was doing pretty good, making a good pace, when all of a sudden, out of nowhere, VRRRROOOOOM, VRRRRROOOOOOM!

Not one, but TWO sport bikes roared past me without warning. Their knees were dragging, and they were literally nose to tail with one another - like they were racing. I had to pull over and lean out my shorts.

That's the last time I rode the Dragon, and I'll not be going back. Waaay too crowded with fools and idiots.

never on a turn unless on a track:rulez: and even then probly not; on a straight yea if he waves me on if not ill probly hand back and wait for a good time to pass

Happens here all the time. If someone wants to go faster than me I just pull to the left side of the lane and let them pass. I also pass as long as I am sure they have seen me and when they make the move, or if they wave me by, I go.

The only riders I'll pass in the same lane are the guys I ride with regularly. Other than that I hit the other lane and go.

If Im waved by I still try to cross the line before passing

HOWEVER

Please read this, I have been on a couple group rides and as the group has passed slower vehicles the bike in front of me would clear the vehicle being passed then let up and even touch the brakes, Here I am keeping up with the pack, going around the slower vehicle and getting back into my lane only to see the bike in front of me slowing and had to make the decision to either brake and take a chance of the bike behind me having the same problem or passing the slowing bike, Both times at least the bike did move over to the right so I was able to pass on the left but in the same lane. Little scary.

:poke: When passing in a group, Please dont let up after you have passed the slower vehicle, There are bikes behind you still accelerating. :poke:

I know exactly what you mean by this. Been in that situation a couple times. It's even worse when your making that pass and you have an oncoming car approaching
I mean give me some room to get over & back in formation would ya!

When I am on my HD just cruising along some twistys, I always keep an eye in the mirror for fast bikes and will ride to the right and wave them past. If I am on the Busa, I will pass on the left side when it is safe to do so. Going down the freeway passing in the same lane? I pass on the left side without blowing by. I would not recommend passing a 1%er in the same lane. That shows lack of respect and stupid things have happened. Better to keep someone with a gun in front of you than piss them off and have them behind you. Just my .02

I wouldn't pass in the same lane with another rider. If there weren't any cars coming in our direction I would prefer to pass in the other lane when it was safe.

You pull to the left? I'd take that as a Block.
