I don't see how we can righten the sinking ship.
She scoffs at all of it, and walks free.
There are no consequences for our officials.
Our options are, revolt, take our torches and pitchforks to DC and clean house, or,....get used to it.
If Hillary wins, nothing good happens. If Trump wins, the country implodes.
Let me just interject my personal opinion here... Nothing more than my opinion and the vantage point that I look from if you guys will indulge me for a sec. This opinion may not be a popular one, many scoff and will laugh it away, some will turn away and yet some will relate to it.
CAPTAINS OPINION (Belief & Faith) from here on down.......
Not picking on you at all sixpack, you know that I respect you but I am going to use your post as an example.
- There is an assumption that "we" the people built this country, that "we" the people need to right the sinking ship.
- There are no consequences
- Our only options are, Revolt, Old school takeover or settle with what we have.
- Hillary = bad / Trump = bad
Here is my take..... neither of these candidates are in charge, not Hillary, not Trump or Russia's Putin, not ISIS, not a country or any other person on this planet. The creator of this Universe is in charge, he controls all things, knows all things, and sees all things. As a Christian I have to use the bible as the infallable word of the Almighty. This is what faith is really about.
A few character traits of God:
Omniscience means that God is all-knowing or that He has unlimited knowledge. His infinite knowledge is what qualifies Him as sovereign ruler and judge over all things. Not only does God know everything that will happen, but He also knows all things that could have possibly happened. Nothing takes God by surprise, and no one can hide sin from Him. There are many verses in the Bible where God reveals this aspect of His nature. One such verse is
1 John 3:20: “...God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.”
Omnipotence means that God is all-powerful or that He has unlimited power. Having all power is significant because it establishes God’s ability to carry out His sovereign will. Because God is omnipotent and has infinite power, nothing can stop His decreed will from happening, and nothing can thwart or stop His divine purposes from being fulfilled. There are many verses in the Bible where God reveals this aspect of His nature. One such verse is
Psalm 115:3: “But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases.” Or when answering His disciples' question “Then who can be saved?” (
Matthew 19:25), Jesus says, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (
Matthew 19:26).
Omnipresence means that God is always present. There is no place that you could go to escape God’s presence. God is not limited by time or space. He is present at every point of time and space. God’s infinite presence is significant because it establishes that God is eternal. God has always existed and will always exist. Before time began, God was. Before the world or even matter itself was created, God was. He has no beginning or end, and there was never a time He did not exist, nor will there be a time when He ceases to exist. Again, many verses in the Bible reveal this aspect of God’s nature to us, and one of them is
Psalm 139:7-10: “Where can I go from Thy Spirit? Or where can I flee from Thy presence? If I ascend to heaven, Thou art there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, Thou art there. If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, Even there Thy hand will lead me, And Thy right hand will lay hold of me.”
I stand firm and know that nothing escapes Gods plans, while he gives us free will he is in control, nothing takes him by suprise. There has been a long standing argument on our forefathers and if this country was founded on God and his word. You don't have to go very far in research to see the documents that many of our forefathers identified as Christians and let their Faith drive the decisions they made. I am not going to argue the past but I will tell you what my plan for the present and future is.
All things were created to bring Glory to God the Father, God is Holy, Perfect and Loves us. He desires to have a relationship with us but we (individually and as a country) have turned away. I have watched arguments on CNN, newspapers, FOX news other media outlets and even on this site and seen first hand close friends argue and never change anyone's mind. I personally believe what we have is a heart problem across our country. We don't value life collectively, look at murders, violent crimes against others and just vicious attacks that we have not seen in this country in the past. I came to a point where I had to stop the rhetoric and realize that this problem is so far beyond anything that I can do that I needed to go back to what I know to be true... God is in control, the best thing I can do for our country is to pray for intercession, to lift the name of Jesus high, be a light reflecting Christ when the world gets darker each day. I will continue to get up early and read my bible, continue to love my neighbor and I am going to step that up and fight this battle in our country with love and prayer and put it back into the hands of God the Father.
