Hey you guys comng from 1400 miles away if you go by St Louis you can crash here and we can roll out together. cant offer you anything but an airmatress and a couch but it beats going 1400 miles in a day

Thanks for the offer him, but I'm coming from British Columbia Canada, which is about 1400 miles northwest of Denver. Maybe chev982 is closer. Hope to meet you at Copper Mountain.

ATTN: CAMPERS

On the Cyclefest site there is a link for camping. This site inludes 2 campgrounds. Peak One and Heaton Bay. Neither one has water or electricity on site so if you have a camper it needs to be self contained.
My question is,
Which campground are the majority of campers going to pick?
If no one has a preference I'll say Heaton Bay looks like it has the biggest sites. So post yours thoughts and we can make our reservations.
I think it would be best to try and stay at the same campground.

I have a fithwheel me and MrGxr will bring up. Keep me informed on what sites we are looking at.
If you read on some of these sites they do have dirt roads.

I have stayed in pine Cove not very big but if you got the whole site that would be really cool, no dirt to travel on and is relly close to stores and food.
We only have 4 sites to chose from that take reservations, I say we look at Lowry Campground?

It looks to me like Heaton Bay is the winner unless someone else has some imput. The sites and roads are listed as being paved. It is a forest service campground so we are not going to get a price break. As far as trying to stay together, I guess the first person to reserve a spot for an RV or trailer needs to post up the lot number so the rest of use can try to be close. There is very little information on tent camping on the web site so I will try to call & get more info. If it like the federal campgrounds around here you can probably work out a deal with someone who is in an RV & put your tent in their area & help pay for the spot. I don't like how they say 2 vehicles only per spot & the rest have to pay $5 and park in the lot at the entrance. I am not going to leave my busa in an unsecured parking lot overnight! I will see if I can get more info on that too.

So to reiterate, we will camp at Heaton Bay, whoever makes the first reservation please post the lot # you get & the rest of us will follow, and I will post back with more info on tents & parking. Later!!

OK Campers:
I made my reservation at Heaton Bay...............................
I got site 015 Loop B.
I think it would be best if we can try to fill up Loop B with as many .org people as possible.

By the way-
The campsite was $42.00 plus a $9.00 reservation fee for 3 nts.
I booked mine for Aug. 19th - Aug 21st.
