Why with yours are you loosing 5th gear also does that mean you need a zender dode with a greater value than 5th gear on lesser value of 6th not equal value of 5th gear.
So it is reverse biasing the zener diode in 5th also.... Probably because 5th is closer to 4.4 under charge conditions.
I was afraid of that but know how to correct it. That is why earlier in the post I asked:
" The question is what gear will be displayed?"
I was hoping with just the Zener you would get 1, 0 + neutral light, 23455. The voltage drop that the zener diode is allowing after being forward biased is too great.
For me, I like it that way, cause I prefer the timing and mapping of 4th gear.
I also could check it with a 4,7V zener cause I made a "plug 'n play" where I easily can change the components,so I'll try that...
