2003 Gsxr1000

No ceramic wheel bearings?

lol...no
Those went in my friend's '18 Gsxr, and were $400
These stock ones cost me $40.
If I ever swap the wheels I will, but for now, that $360 saved goes a long way towards my rebuild.
Like this fancy RCs-17 Bimbo here, it's on the way, and was $320 shipped.

Valve cover is off, and the inside of it and the head are clean, no carbon or burnt oil.
The engine doesn't tick, knock, or smoke...but it's always nice to find that it's clean inside.
Intake and exhaust valves look good through the intake and exhaust ports.
I havn't checked the valve lash yet, but I will soon, and swap any shims if needed.
I have a new valve cover gasket and spark plugs too.
The throttle bodies are scuzzy inside, so off for a cleaning, and boots off to replace the 4 o-rings.
I will sync the throttle bodies when I'm done.

It's basically using the rear brake to slow your corner speed entry, up until the point that you throttle out of the corner.
I finally found a listing for the other style rotor, the 'light weight' version, lol, that I was considering too, one that shows the weight...and it is heavier than the Brembo!
I was concerned anyway that this style would warp and eat pads, as well as not stop as good with repeated hard street use.
So I'm glad that I found and bought the Brembo rotor instead.

ASV clutch perch and adjuster with shorty lever.
I need to get a relay to make the ecu think the clutch switch is active too, as the stock switch won't work with this lever, and having the switch always open or closed causes fueling problems.
Regardless, a simple fix, and I'll post pictures of that when I do it.
Worth it for the smoothness and fine adjustability these levers and perches have.
I have put them on several machines over the years and they always perform great.

You just have to love getting all these new, shiny bits to resurrect the old beast....

It must be like Christmas morning every day.....

It is!(unless I look at my bank account, lol)
...until they don't fit and have to be returned(undertail), need modded more than they're worth to work(05-08 cush drives)...or are mishandled by clowns.
I'm still trying to get my Spiegler/ABM bars since Friday.
UPS just can't get it together(Spiegler has been great).
Now it's a $7.99 UPS fee to deliver it to a UPS store that's a 50+ mile round trip for me...if they can get it there...because they're idiots.
First world problems...gotta love it.
But, it's still exciting to see what's on my doorstep and in the mailbox when I get home.

Never fun when your parts are fumbled around by incompetence......

Recently I ordered a seat cover for my tractor...after a little while the company couldn't get the cover so they reimbursed me so I went elsewhere and got a cover...a few days later the original cover came in from the company that reimbursed me....so I ended up with 2 covers for the price of one...

Always handy to have a spare one...

Sometimes I don't how some of these companies stay in business....

I finally got the bars and lines...and the lines are too short.
I talked to them, waiting on a call back now.

My Delkevic slip-on just showed up...I'm afraid to open it.

I get cranky when something shows up that isn't what it was supposed to be..

Now you have to go through all that hassle of shipping the short lines back and waiting for the longer lines.....

The kit came with a single line from the MC to the right caliper, with a seperate line over to the other caliper.
I did not want that, and asked for 2 seperate full lines instead, and whatever length they said.
Ok, no problem.
Well, their single line routing is behind the triple clamps, vs in front like stock, which I did not know, as I had no instructions before ordering.
So the 2 lines will have to run behind the triple clamps, which I do not like.
It leaves little to no line slack either.
Regardless, one line is supposed to be about an inch and a half longer than the other...and they are both the same length.
I do not have the Brembo MC yet either.
Spiegler told me to wait until I get the Brembo, mach it all up, then they'll take care of it.
They have been very good to deal with.
Regardless, even if I have to pay, I'm getting longer lines and routing them in front of the triple-clamps.
The lines also didn't come with new banjos either, which suprised me, only one for the Brembo.
I have lots to do on this project, but I hate to put new parts on 6 months after I get them, then find out there's a problem...
So I'll hopefully get this resolved whenever the new MC shows up, tracking says this Thursday.
