2020 Pashnit Touring

Plan for the day is a back roads loop for Santa Barbara County roads, I had the optoin to do major roads like Highway 166 and Highway 33


but opted instead for the really goaty stuff.

We're also a couple miles from Vandenburg AFB where they launch all the super secret military satellites.

This what I decided not to do but it's an option:

Highway 166 is a really boring road, you put the needle on 80 and flow across the state. But, it takes us to one of the best backroads in entire county know as Tepusquet Rd (i can't pronounce it either).

Super fun twisties and a single lane wide. Paved a few years back, It's like a ribbon of chocolate.

When you're near a major military base, these sorts of things are flying right over.

Tepusquet Rd is fun , but nearby is Figeroa Mountain Rd, Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch is along this road, we rode right by it.

The summit, you can look down on Santa Barbara and no haze, and you can see the Pacific Ocean from up here.

Dropping down out of the range into the danish town of Solvang.

It's so touristy here, hesitate to bring a tour group into this town, but this is where the Solvang Motorcycle Museum is.

Yup, same bike.

Nice thing about this museum is you can up close to the bikes.

I've been to the Solvang Motorcycle Museum many times and have to photograph a theme every time I come here, this time I shot engines...

When you compare the engines, you can see all the different solutions to powering these machines, the evolution into the motors we have today.
