2024 Pashnit Touring on a Hayabusa

Highway 58 is fast, everyone's favorite, and it's a long, deserted 70 miles riding up and over two low ranges.

Bitterwater is known of this rolling treeless landscape. All ranch land and no people or connecting side roads.

During our spring time, winter rains make this road a destination.

The first time I led a motorcycle tour to the tiny town of Parkfield, CA, pop. 18, was in 2005.
The old timey water tower was being used as a tool shed with rakes and shovels leaned up against it. No windows, the white paint was peeling from age and neglect. That was 223 tours ago. And we’ve been back to the Parkfield Cafe & Lodge many times over.
But even 223 motorcycle tours later, the population hasn’t changed in 20 years, the sign still says pop. 18.
The Varian family that owns the town has developed it into a must-visit destination in the Central Coast Range. We even offer an entire motorcycle tour based around the town each year in April during the height of our spring green, likely the 2nd most popular tour we offer.
I book the entire town. There’s only 11 rooms in Parkfield.

The Parkfield tour date is set for April 04, 2025, first weekend of April.
