Penstocks come right out of the side of the mountain and drop to a power generating station at Moccasin

We get to one of our favorite roads, Old Priest Grade, and closed. This road is so steep, it reaches nearly a 20% grade.

Old Priest Grade is the original road from horse & stagecoach days that were headed for Yosemite.

Close enough to the Sierra to touch. We had the option to ride the Cherry Lake Loop, but that mountain road is nearly 6000 ft and that's risky this time of year. These roads are not plowed.

Where are we going today, Boss?

That's the best part. No one has any idea where they are going.

Ever heard of Ben Hur Rd? Seen the movie.
It's really, really goaty, but super fun and amazing views of the Central Valley. We get there, and the goaty stretch has been repaved.
Wait, what?
