The guys wanted to put on rain suits, but I was we don't need no stinkin' rain suits.

While we were here, it started snowing.

Great bunch of guys, some of the fellas have been riding with me for 15 years

It's now starting to snow quite heavily.

Who's up for lunch, we can wait out the snow.

Betting the snow would stop by the time we did lunch. It did.

The lodge in Sequoia NP was just what we needed. Warm & dry with great view out the windows.

There's a building under all that snow.

Lunch complete. Not snowing. Perfect.

This is Kings Canyon NP, the canyon is 5000 ft deep and you can normally ride down into the canyon. We're too early in the ride season though and the road was still closed. Bummer, we could only look down into the canyon from above.

Kings Canyon is the deepest canyon in the United States, tops of the peaks to the bottom is 8200 ft.

Some of the walls in the canyon are 4000 ft straight up.

But all we could do is peer over the edge into the canyon.

It's as fun as it looks.

One year ago, we lucked out and got here the day Kings Canyon opened. They had opened up the road into the canyon hours before we got there.

That's living life! Before I die, if I could put my life on hold, I'd sign up for a tour, book a hotel, hop on a plane, rent a bike and make memories. I don't have a bucket list, but that seems bucket-listy to me!
